  1. Pre-ordered mine yesterday as well. It's an awesome design.

Just out of curiosity, what made you go with the R1 TK as apose to the OT?

Cool. See you in Orlando! :)

He's actually a hybrid of troopers. A mostly ANH Stunt helmet with a blend of ANH and R1 Troooer for the rest. I've always loved the ANH helmets but I actually dig the more real world equipment look of the undersuit, abs, and armor bits. Some of the R1 stuff really bothered me though like the way the belt ammo boxes were contoured to the ab details and the missing rivet cover details. Soooo I kind of did my own blend of things.

  2. Just wanted to start a thread here at FISD to chat about my celebration print, share some details, and answer any questions folks might have... Shout out if you want to see anything in particular detail. :)

Everything is pretty detailed out and its all at the same scale... 25% of actual size on the finished print.

Sale thread up here incase you didn't make it to Celebration earlier this year....

  3. I was just wondering if anyone has done an interior for their helmet based off of the piece in DK's Visual Dictionary…

I designed the original Riddell Mini Helmets back in the day that its based off of and was just thinking about putting together a full size one for myself.

The eye greeblies are found parts but most of it is custom made to match the mini helmet interiors. Are there any kits out there or someone that has done up a nice replica that could hook me up with some parts?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  4. I'm not sure of a screen used version with the curly wires.... I built mine based off of the ones in the promo shots with the actors and as seen in Chronicles. I was going for a build as I thought the designers intended it to look.

I'm amazed people still reference the Parts of Star Wars site.... we've been so busy for so long on illustration work we just never got it updated. Some secions are soooo out of date its funny.

  5. Thanks for all the welcomes!

It is my plan to build to a pretty high standard. Im looking at it as a sophisticated replica prop build... I need to replenish the bank reserves a bit before I dive in too heavy though. Once i can list some stuff for sale here I'll hopefully be able to eek up on the project.

Looking forward to another detailed construction project.

  6. Do you have a high res image of this? That would be great!

The big art of it is in the Star Wars Blueprints The Ultimate Collection from DK.... It's printed on a full size poster and if memory serves me correctly it's 85% of actual size....

Here's a link to the set on Amazon...

  7. 501st Honorary member here... been around the forums for a while but really have just enjoyed my lurker status. Thought I'd pop my head up and say hello. Some of you may know me from the RPF and The Parts of Star Wars or even through my illustration work.

Spent the past year working on an R2 Build and now finding myself wanting to get back to working on some white plastic for a while instead of Aluminum. :)

Always have wanted to put together a TK (and a TD) so I might as well start here. :)

  8. Just going through files on my computer and thought folks might enjoy this... Its a look at the black and white line art I did for the DK Blueprints of the RT-97c. Might help anyone that is trying a custom build of the blaster....

A bit of trivia is that Chris Trevas and I were the ones to name this blaster while we were working on the blueprints for DK.... Here is how the name came about..... RT-97C = R(eiff)T(revas)-(19)97(the year Trevas and I first met) C(hris)
