1. Ah see.. I knew it! :D

Thanks for the advice. I know of the TrooperMaster stuff and have seen his great work on FB, i'll have a rethink on funding ;) ...I Was just being cheap and impatient.

My first build was from eBay and I spent a long time getting it 'right' but i guess there's only so much you can do if you start from a bad kit.

I'll not make the same mistake. I'm after real quality and accuracy this time.

    Cheers guys!

  2. Hi guys, I don't want to over step the mark here or break the rules but, if someone wants to cancel I'm happy to take their place in the pre order. My first TK built is my proudest position but it needs a better helmet at least (probs the rest too) Not sure what you call it but it was an eBay special (see pic)

Looking at the Anovos preorder for the lid but if I can secure a complete set of armour for just over double that, I'll jump at the chance. You'll get a FULL refund from me, and I'll get a bargain :) ...just a thought.

I'm in the Uk so if you are too and want to bail from the $350 preorder, PM me.

All the best.

3. Great help Tom thanks!

I'll take a look at those links and see what's what. I think ultimately my aim was to have the armour on display (Well impressed with the duct-tape mannequin!) but temptation will no doubt get the better and I'll sling it on when the Girlfriend is out and cant judge me...

As for the style of trooper, I was initially going down the Hero route as I think the helmet is a more aesthetically pleasing layout.

I'm a little scuppered though as the ears come with 4 ridges not 3. However, being that the kit is a little unorthodox, the ridges are a separate item to glue on, so it presents a mod opportunity....

I got the Kit from Stormtrooper_Shop_UK . All in just shy of £200 and, like I say, the guy is falling over to help. Fairly good instructions sent on purchase of a kit but the info I've got from here already outweighs the detail and methods used to git it right. ABS too, so suits the Hero requirement there ;)

Just bought the Brow and Neck trim from seals direct, and looking for the Hovi tips that Keith is selling. I think the Lid is well within the realms of modding to an acceptable standard. I'll post some before and after shots if you like...?

...already the lure of a screen accurate TE2 is beginning to affect my OCD for perfection!

Again, a big thanks for the warm welcome!

    Be back soon.

  4. Hi All!

New UK Member here. I Have spent years looking to get TK armour and I finally made the jump this month, thanks to a bit of disposable cash and the urge was building to an unstoppable need for armour !

Had a bit of a "guplp" moment as I only found this forum after I bought the armour, then read all the scathing remarks about eBay seller recast armour!

I will be Taking as much advice from here though, to eradicate as many of the imperfections in the armour and Helmet as I can. Fairly confident in my abilities as I used to be a composite trimmer/fitter for a couple of racing teams... so let the grinding commence! As long as I can get it to fit well, I will let some of the absent detail slide...

In all honesty though, the stuff I got is damn good (for the price)...and the seller can't do more to make sure it's all good; He sent me a new helmet front as the pull I got was a little sparse in sharp detail...not bad eh?

So, I'll leave it there for now. Sure I'll be back for some info, advice and the all important hard to find objects like Hovi's, Bubble lenses and Helmet seals B)

    Laters guys!
