  1. I just ordered my RS PVC. Great guys. I was in contact with Rob and he answered all my questions....patiently.

I cannot encourage you enough to order from them....also, it is from the orig. suit....can't get better than that in my opinion!

Good luck on whatever you decide!

  2. Just purchased my first TK!

Took me a while to decide...and then my OCD kicked in...so then it took even longer.

So after much deliberation and focus....my decision was....

    RS PROP MASTER.

Had been in touch with Rob and I have to say that he is such a great guy and patient too (I had a lot of questions). I am very pleased with how smooth everything went.

Well...can't wait to get my brown box!!!!!!

  3. OK, so my wife and daughter are going to buy me a set of armor and I have trouble deciding between TM and the new RS Prop Master (since they're buying, I might as well go BIG, right??!).

The one thing I like about RS is that it comes in PVC which takes some abuse without cracking.

From what I have read they are both top of the line and I am sure that I cannot go wrong either way....but I just wanted to get some outside opinions, especially from those of you that may have both sets.

Thanks for your help and opinions.

  4. Just wondering if RS PROPS with their new armor will be add to the "Various Types of Armor and Where to Get Them' list?

(inclusive with the description of their armor)

definitely helps to have these 'insider descriptions' in making decisions.

The various types of armor and where to find them

  5. When looking to buy a new set of armor, there is some research to be done. Although the descriptions help quite a bit, I wanted to suggest that it may help (especially to newbies) if there were actual photos taken of the different types of armor located with their description in "The Various Types of Armor and Where to FInd Them" depicting some of the differences.

Also, I think the ATA description may need to be updated. It currently reads:

"Comments: Being a later generation from ANH, details are not as sharp as TE2. However quality of HIPS material is such that it the most durable of all HIPS armor makes."

However, while searching the forums it shows that their ABS armor is "just as detailed as TE2"

"There is a huge difference between the TE2 and your older ATA - the ATA while thicker yet more supple didn't have the detail the TE2 had, even to an untrained eye. The new ab plate you pulled - even with no changes to the mold - looks identical to the TE2."

OK, just my 2 cents....any thoughts?

    Thanks!

  6. Actually, you can choose black or brown :P . And I talked with TKboots and they said it could be 8 weeks until they have my size ready and I will have my armor ready by then :o

Personally I would wait. Especially if you don't have a lot of cash flow, you should wait it out. TK Boots are definitely worth every cent and the wait. Really no sense in rushing...and just think, in a couple of months you'll have the perfect set up!

You can also see if they have the next size up. I got mine a little big, and those things are like walking in slippers! SUPER comfortable!

  7. I've been in email contact with them as recently as last Wednesday. Their next shipment of boots is scheduled to be available next week. Not sure what happened with the website, but at least their email traffic indicates they're still in business.

Yes, they let me know that they were receiving shipment by 01/06/2011. I just sent them an email and I will post if I hear back from them!

  8. I sent Troopmaster an email. Just waiting to hear back to see how long the wait is. I'm ready to buy and throw an armor party at my house. . I'll go with the TM 2mm.

Hopefuly it's not too long of a wait.

If anyone knows a better way to get in touch with him, let me know.

    Thanks.

  9. I have heard that there are some great kits out there by Doopy Doo's, and I very much admire all of you who take your time on the builds and mod's. However, I was just wondering if an already built E-11 is worth the buy and accurate enough for ANH stunt?

    Thanks for your help.

  10. OK, first off I would like to say thank you to all of you 501st(ers). You all have been a tremendous encouragement on getting started...and these forums are fantastic (thanks Paul). I also have to thank all of the members that I met yesterday (at FRANK and SONS in Los Angeles) for taking the time to meet with me, helping me out with some tips and the eagerness for future philanthropic adventures.

So, why am I here?... I am the co-founder of a 501c3 non-profit which focuses on helping children (of all ages) who are critically and terminally ill. Being a SW fan, I wanted to work with the 501st on some endeavors that we had a meeting about. It wasn't until recently that I thought of actually joining before launching our ideas with you all...it just makes sense, right? So, the endeavors are put on hold until I actually become a member...but with such great people surrounding these ideas, and the help I am sure I will receive, there is no room for failure.

"Do or do not, there is no try"

I have done a lot of research throughout these forums (and still learning EVERYDAY), I have decided on my armor, I have contacted the person that I want to get the armor from, so I am definitely on my way. I know I have friends along this path and journey that will ensure my success in this (Troopers Helping Troopers...right?). Once armor in hand, I do plan on hosting an "Armor Party" at my house (Los Angeles county) with anyone who wants to come: 'noob's' and the 'more experienced' (someone needs to keep us in line) (and help me especially 'A LOT' with the build and purchasing the extras...and I am not exaggerating-so be prepared for many questions).

Again, I look forward to this continuous adventure.

On a side note: Today (11/21) is actually my birthday and my beautiful daughter decided to make these cookies for me (as inspiration to joining the 501st)...they were delicious!

Thank you again for all your support. If anyone needs more information on our charity, please PM me and I will be more than happy to explain more in detail.

    Sincerely,

    Jose
