  1. AM and RT-Mod are going to be for larger size people. Most of the parts will have deeper draws to them and would need a lot of trimming/modifying for mainly your weight and still might not fit you as well. The original armor that was sculpted for and used in SW 4, 5 and 6 was scultped for an "average" size guy, about 5'10" or 177.8 cm and 160 lbs. or 11.43 stones. You're are spot on for the height. You are just a little under the weight for the size that the original armor was intended for.

My advice is to get you some pizza and beer and chow down. I keed, I keed! :P:lol::P

Here is a few that should be closer to your size.

    Made with ABS:

TM - 0.080 ABS fan sculpt. Reputedly the most accurate fan sculpt. UK

AP - 0.080 ABS, untrimmed, ANH derived. Canada

T/MC - 0.090 ABS, untrimmed, ANH derived. USA

    Made with HIPS:

TE2 - 0.090 HIPS, untrimmed, ANH derived. Hawaii, USA

ATA - 0.090 HIPS, untrimmed, ANH derived. USA

Some have said that ABS is harder to trim than HIPS, but it is really up to the individual as to how much time and effort they want ot put into it.

I wouldn't fret over which material that you get. There has been debates over which material Troopers like their armor made from. HIPS versus ABS has been debated like which brand of soda pop taste better, Pepsi or Coca Cola.

Yeah, I've contacted just about every one of the vendors. Still waiting to hear back from 70% of them. As far as diet goes, well lets just say I eat just about anything I want and the weight doesn't change. I've been the same weight with a 3LBS difference since I was 15  (I'm 25 in November)

  2. So tonight I placed an order with one of the vendors, but after I sent over my specs (5'10" and 125 LBS) he wrote back to me and said that his suits wouldn't fit. I'm really happy that he was honest about it, but now I am back on the hunt trying to get a hold of a vendor. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so can you PM me and let me know which vendor worked. I hate getting on here and asking this sort of question, but it seems i have a pretty skinny body for my height.......

  3. Hi from Atlanta as well! This sight is an overwhelming amount of info. I ordered mt kit, which should be here within two weeks. If you haven't already, I would suggest checking out the Georgia Garrison site- lots of good people there! /i am just starting and they have been great. Good Luck! :D

Yeah I signed up for the forum but I'm waiting on approval. Funny thing is, is that my girlfriend got approved today and I'm still waiting (we signed up together at the same time last night)

Will give it a couple more days before I start e-mailing people...

    Welcome. :)

If you're referring to actually creating the vacformed pieces, then yes it's best to just buy a kit. However, if you're talking about actual costume assembly, many people start out wanting someone else to build their costume (not enough time, no skills, etc.) but realize it's actually it's best to build your own costume - for a number of reasons:

    1. You learn how it comes together - important since you'll be the one who has to maintain it

    2. The costume needs to be fitted to your unique body specs - and no two bodies are identical

    3. It's cheaper than hiring someone to do it for you

    4. The sense of satisfaction that comes with building it yourself

    5. No deadlines - no one is going to rush you to get it completed

You can learn everything you need to know right here at the FISD, and the only timeline for building it is the one you impose on yourself.

I do plan on buying a kit as I do not have time to sculpt my own, nor do I have the skills to do it. As far as assembly goes, I plan on reaching out to some of the local guys to possibly assist me with assembly. I don't want to spend a ton of money only to mess up the pieces and parts of the costume. Well see how it goes, as I have only recently decided to jump into this head first......

  4. Hello everyone!

My name is Matt (Aftercrash) and I come from Atlanta. Over the past four days at Dragon*Con I have had many conversations with many of the members of the 501 about joining the organization. However, before I make the commitment I must put together a suit. Over the next few days I am going to be doing some research as to what route I will take as far as the TK suits go. I will also be looking for costumers who can build a suit for me. My work does not allow me enough time to do it myself, and honestly I would rather have a skilled costumer build the pieces. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to conversing with everyone rather soon. Hit me up on FB if you would like (Aftercrash@gmail.com)

    Thanks!

    -Matt
