  1. hello all,

I'm such a noob for asking this, and I know I skimmed over some info on this before, but I have since forgotten. what is the actually difference between trimmed and untrimmed armor? If I buy my first set of armor that is already trimmed, does that mean its already cut down to fit someone else or a specific body type? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of buying armor trimmed or untrimmed?

    Thanks,

    Derek

  2. The only thing I know that happens with taller people is a larger gap between the joints. If you lose weight it is easier to adjust than if you gain. But if you gain it back, you'll have to shim things again most likely.

The joint gaps will not change though. Only the chest to back and ab to kidney mainly. The rest should pretty much stay the same overall. I'm only 5'9" and about 175 so I am not that big. I can't absolutely be certain of all that I said. I'll let other larger members chime in if they can.

Allrighty then. So you also sell armor kits correct? What all can you tell me about your armor and prices?

  3. Assuming since you are interested in AP armor you are a smaller individual able to fit accurate armor. There are a number of makers and sellers able to help you out with getting the right armor for you.

You can check out the thread here for the different kits available.

The various types of armor and where to find them

Addiction is a fact. You will crave more. Likely before you even finish your first costume. :)

From what I've read, the AP armor was made for a 5'10 man weighing 165 pounds. I also read that it has successfully built to fit a 6'4 man weighing 235 pounds. I am 5'11 and weigh about 200 pounds. Do you think the AP armor will work? I also plan on losing weight soon, so is the armor easily adjustable after weight loss?

  4. Hi!

Introduction! Hi, my name is Derek. So I'm completely new to this whole thing and I'm very excited. I am from Indiana. I should be part of the Bloodfin Garrison at some point, but I haven't been getting feedback yet :/ I've been trying to decide where I should get my first set of armor, and also what kind to get. I shot an email to Authenticprops to see about their kit. I have no experience in costuming, so do you have any suggestions for first time armor builders?
