  1. Grats Katie! That's awesome!

I'm fighting the same thing, what was your plan of attack to focus on your middle?

Can't wait to see the new gear w/o shims!

I'm holding off on starting mine for the same reason, I don't want to look like a tubby-trooper. Almost sub 200, then I'll measure again and see where I'm at.

I'm still 240lbs, but I just cut out most fast food, candy, non diet sodas, and constant snacking. I also increased the amount of veggies I eat in comparison to meats, and eat leaner meats now. It is also helps that the weather is above 0 now and we can get outside a bit. I also started LARPing. 72 hours running around constantly does it to you.

  2. Just checked to see how much of a gap I would have on my ab and kidney pieces. And I am happy to announce that I don't need to put a shim in the side. I have dropped 9 lbs over the past week and a half. Evidently it was all belly fat cause it didn't fit around a week and a half ago. I meet that goal so I can now start my armor build.

  3. I'm really new to armor so I have no idea where I would acquire a blaster. I am hoping to work towards EIB with my armor, so need to find out where I could get an appropriate blaster. I'm not really the best at making things like that (boffer weapons I can do, blasters not so much.) Any help that can be offered on where to go to get one would be great.

    Thank you.

PS. I'm not sure if this is even where I should of posted this, so if it needs to be moved go ahead.

  4. Hey, just found this. I've been reading and makes me want to work harder. I am currently 245lbs and 5'6.5". I am told I don't look that big, but I don't always believe them. I actually just joined the VA's MOVE program, weight loss for vets. I really want to loose some weight cause I just ordered some armor today.I've been working on eating better lately. One of the things I have been doing is changing what I eat for lunch. There is a grocery store around here called Weagmans, they offer these $6 meals that you just heat and eat. They offer things like chicken french and baked tillapia and entrees with your choice of two sides. They have things liked steamed garden veggies, honey glazed carrots, and greens with almonds. I have been getting these for lunch lately instead of a big mac at McDonald. My 4yo son and I have also been doing a program that this same grocery store does where you pick a color or two each week and have to eat a veggie and fruit of that color each day. I love veggies anyways, but it has helped my son cause he is a picky eater. I have a Wii Fit but I haven't been able to use it in a while, need to get new cables to connect it to the tv with. I do get exercise though, I LARP. I go out once a month for three days non stop and fight with foam swords, staffs, and such. We practice at least once a week. I am trying to cut down on my gaming, but I love my dragon age. Hoping I can start losing more weight soon. Any ideas would be welcome, want to look good in my armor when it gets here :D.

  5. I think I might go with the AM armor and just get the RT-Mod helmet. Thank you for all the help. Just got home and found out I got my tax rebate so should be ordering in the next few days. Going to be a while before I get this done, but it will be fun to work on. I'm going to check the costs again first though.

  6. Hi everyone,

I have finally dicided to do some armor. I already have an officer's uniform. I am trying to decide between AM and RT-Mod armor. I contacted them both, but want others opinions before I commit to anything. I will be the first to admit I am a heavier person. I am 5'6.5", I wear an 18 in women's (Can fit into a 38 men's pants), I have 17" calves, and quite large shoulders. I read that these two armors are better for heavier people. Which one would be better for my situation? Thanks in advance.

PS-I am working on loosing some weight, lost 10lbs already. Should help in the long run.
