  1. I don't think the recruits now get a poncho here in Sweden. I had one 94-95 when I did my military service, back in the day of mass conscript armies. Whether one shall call it a poncho is up for debate though.

It's made out of tarpaulin, very thick. Nowhere close to a lightweight modern poncho. Called "Ensamma vargen/Lone wolf"... and, just as wolves, there supposed to be used together. Plenty of buttons so a group of eight/ten can make one proper tent.

  2. Instead of going to bed, I decided to tape the thighs and put the armor on save the buttplate and belt which aren't done. And no dropboxes or kneepieces.

    How shall I put it?

I REALLY admire those of you running in these... Bucket off.

I now have another reason to keep in shape. Even with the FX-thighs being bigger, it's a tight fit for me. I can trim them slightly in the back so they're not so wide above the knees, but the upper part I'll have to let be.

Are the shoulderbells just supposed to hang there? I'm not broadshouldered and never will be, no matter how much I visit the gym. Ok. Looked at a troopermaster-photo and see they touch the shoulder straps. And I'll have to pull the chest and backplates up/in. Correct?

Suspenders and belt is a must for me.

    Well. It's a start!

  3. Hello

Another wannabe TK reporting. (and wannabe TD, but that's waay into the future...)

Im 32 years old, bodywise. Mind like a teenager sometimes, like most of you I guess... Spent a lot of time playing soldier on the weekends in the past and hope this will be more FUN without the pain involved when I'm hauling around a machinegun or a Carl Gustav... Though a TD w/T21 is my dream... You know. Like this:

I've been checking in here on the forums and surfing every site about armor I've found since late last year. Haven't written anything before, just reading and seeing how you all mod, fix and show off. I like it. Even if I didn't get a kit, I would probably hang around just to see how you all progress.

I actually got my FX just before Christmas but decided not to rush it. Having since read every topic on how to assemble it, snaps vs buckles vs real velcro, I've only recently decided on a setup that I'll like.

I hope to have everything ready before the new StarWars movie/series premieres. There's got to be some chance for trooping then!

I'm not very handy, so the bucket will be tricky... I really don't want to involve my dad in this. I haven't inherited his skills though, so probably...

I started only two days ago by taping and using the supplied velco just to se how it all fits together, get measurements for suspenders/gaither and other straps. Lets just say I'm not overly impressed with the supplied velcro... Snaps it is. I haven't found a definite How-to on the TK armor, but will use a little bit from all of you that post tips and photos.

This forum is a deep well of ideas!

The shoulderbell fell just before the camera shot, ............... Trying on the suit, gloves, neckseal and CA-boots.

    hence the grin...
