You have no idea how insanely jealous I am right now. That looks like a place I'd spend a lot of time in!
-
Very cool! I'm just up the road from you. I know the TX in Oxnard who's listed as a TK mentor for our garrison if you want his contact info. Armor party time?

Hiya! SCG is on fire this week. I'm currently putting together an AP kit too. What part of SoCal are you in?

Hiya! Don't worry about feeling like a noob. We were all there at one point. What part of SoCal are you in?
-
Welcome to the crew! So Cal is a pretty happenin' place

I bought one over the weekend at Toys R US for $40. Without batteries it's pretty light. The gun by itself uses 6 D batteries, before any mods. I'd say the box was probably about 4 to 5 lbs.

I like it! It gives me some ideas for my next custom blaster
The good:
The barrel lights are a nifty idea
The left side light panel is sweet
I like the heat sinks on the barrel
The bad (more like the picky):
The right side light panel requires too many batteries. You could probably use a single RC plane NiMH battery pack to the same effect and it would be rechargeable.
Maybe too many heatsinks over the rest of the gun? Could scratch armor if one isn't too careful?
Overall, great job sir!

That's really not too surprising. I have 2 APH-6 helmets that don't quite look alike either. The first one is an APH-6c that was made by Gentex and the second is an APH-6d that was made by Sierra Engineering. Both follow the spec and military requirements, but there are subtle differences. Sterling probably used different sub-contractors over the life cycle of the production.

Nice job! If it wasn't for some distinct features, it'd be hard to tell it was Hasbro blaster under there.
-
It could also be Ian, TK-4722. He's in my garrison and does a lot of high profile events as 3PO.
Also, that was hilarious!

I got mine from barstormers in the UK for like $50-$60 - you shouldn't have to pay more than that.
Oooh, that's much better

Congrats mate!

That's sharp! Nice job

Just do a search for Chelsea boots. They're around $200 to $300 on average, though you might be able to find some for cheaper.

This is the one I used, and appears to be the most common conversion kit.

The mag clip is molded to slip right on and the counter box has a notch to fit over the speaker section. Once everything is on, it looks really nice.

Nice job! That turned out extremely well

This hobby does make money... for a lot of good charities

Rawkin! Let the armor parties begin

Very cool! Maybe you can also get her to join the ranks of the Femtroopers

I lightly sanded with the 1600 grit, washed, let dry, and painted using Rustoleum for plastic, no primer needed. If I do it again, I'll put a base of aluminum/silver down first so any natural "weathering" from use shows through.

Nicely done!

I have a doopydoo'd hasbro right now (minus a couple of the parts) and one I bought from a fellow trooper in Germany.
=======
My BFG that I made last year is now in three pieces. Too many stress fractures. I'm inclined to build another one of those . I have a PVC blaster build that I never finished. I spent an afternoon to get all the holes and openings drilled, mostly because it took me two tries (my first try ended with a stuck drill bit that snapped the PVC violently in two).
For the first go around, I recommend modding a hasbro. It's easy, the doopydoo kit works great, and you get to have a blaster with lights and sound without too much hassle.
Blaster party! That would be cool! My gf would be down for that too since she wants to make the Scout sniper rifle.

What do you get when you do an nslookup on forum.whitearmor.net on the machine that isn't connecting? And do you see this problem for other websites?
