TK-7193 Force Arena - New CRL?

Hi everyone.

Years ago I had my eye on this character from the Force Arena game: TK-7193

This character has similarities with the TFU TK which already has a CRL, but we have some differences in the handplates, shoulders, boots, thermal detonator, "ear" painting, battle damage and of course the black pauldron.

I have the 3D model available directly from the game as a reference, so if I create this suit, a new CRL would be possible? I don't know, maybe some authority from the detachment can answer me.

Blast from the past - Vader's up

OneDrive has this cool feature where you can see "pix from this day in history" type of thing. Today it regurgitated one of the few times I got to wear a Vader. Not mine, but one of my garrison mate's. I have to say if you've never done a Vader, it's kinda tiring. That shoulder armor starts getting heavy after and hour, and having to keep your posture perfect, etc. is much more tiring that being a TK.

Still, it's a huge amount of fun.

Hey what's up! My name is Cormac and I joined the FISD to look at and maybe become a Storm trooper (in the future.) I am 18 years old and I am working on joining the 501st as a AT-ST driver (It's cheaper and will be easier to carry around since I'll be going to college soon.) I know I want to eventually make a armored costume for the 501st but for now it's time for me to become a chicken leg driver! Hoorah! Anyways might as well post my progress here (and yes before anyone ask I did already join the ACD.)

Hello there!
Some of you might remember when I first came to this forum 2 years ago, I was searching for advice for a Snowtrooper before you guys helped me find courage to fix my TK . So now, in my quest to build one armor for each of the OT movies I've landed on ESB. After saving for a while for a Snowie I bought one from Troopermaster together with all the soft goods. Only need some small stuff, but I should be able to find it relativily easily.

This will probably be a slow build as I still have school and other stuff hanging around but it may pick up speed once I really start.

Now I have some questions;
-Does anybody have a good source for an ESB E-11? I've got a DLT-19 on the way and I already have an ANH one but I feel it could be good with a smaller, more accurate blaster.
-Does anyone have any opinion on E6000 plus? I know you should look out for fake ones but I think this is from the right company. I have a hard time finding any other E6000 in Sweden and would prefer not buying any outside the country because our customsservice is both slow and expensive. But if not, I can always buy from trooperbay or somesuch.

CableGuy builds my first Tie Pilot helmet (RWA)

Hey troopers,

As many of you know, I’m a bit of an OT TK nut (gasp). I’ve had my head in the world of TKs for a long time now and have learned a huge amount. However, there are some other amazing characters out there from the Star Wars universe, and the Imperial Tie Pilot is just one of them.

This kit is from UK maker RWA Creations and is a “fan sculpt”. It came complete with all of the parts to make and finish the helmet, although I added and/or modified parts along the way.

Here’s how it arrived:

As with many builds, I started with some pencil lines to draft my cut lines.

The RWA faceplate is a little narrow, so I used a heat gun (carefully) and widen the top section of the faceplate a little.

After the basic trimming was done, I started on the Mohawk.

Next, I used the supplied brass nuts and bolts and attached the faceplate and dome together.

I was careful to match the positioning to screen used helmets.

By studying reference photos, I noticed that the RWA trident was a little thick, so I trimmed it down a little - as per below pencil line.

Another cool feature (one not carried out on a lot of builds I’ve seen) is the big cutout in the faceplate.

To stop the helmet having a huge gap here, this part was backed with an additional piece of black ABS.

Next up, I glued the trident in place.

With the main build done, I started on the painting. I used screen shots of the original screen used hero helmet of this style, then made a template using a CriCut machine.

The paint that I used here was Rover Gunmetal spray paint, painted on with a brush (not sprayed).

Iden Versio Build

Started working on an Iden Versio build for my wife awhile back, figured I should post about it. The JRS forum is super quiet though, so I'll post it here.

So far I just have the helmet from HSP that I got a few months back. It was a B grade pull and I got it for cheap, but I have suffered for that. I had to patchup several spots that were super thin and grind down the top of the mohawk. These arent the latest pics, but I have sanded down the whole thing now.

Does anyone know where I can find a screen accurate sandtrooper abdominal piece? The ab pieces I’ve found (and avoided!!!) don’t have the “buttons” on the right, but even the inaccurate abdominal sections are extremely hard to find. Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

So I picked this up from my GMO who got it from our GXO and its lived out its life in a box. Well Not any more I picked it up this past week and got to the trimming today. The only thing is it is missing the thigh ammo pack, which Walt is now aware of and I believe working on getting it sent out. I picked up my snaps, elastic and hardware from (Justhoseph). I won't be doing the bracket system this time though, all snap plates so that I can break it down a bit smaller and with a smaller bin.

Okay time to begin.

BBB of rough trimmed red plastic. Yeah I know it looks pink.

Supplies I picked up E-6000, Line-24 snaps, 1" and 2" elastic and Justjoseph hardware set. I also have some nylon strapping from a old backpack I'll be using for the chest the rest will be elastic.

Started trimming and I'll be doing this different as well with minimal return edge, roughly 3-5 mms.

Wondering if I didn't get this a bit too close?

Also have a pair of Caboots to pickup from my very generous GXO.

Still need to get started on the bucket trimming. I did rough trim the eyes and teeth though.

Hi all. Thought I'd start a thread on my first build. So far all I have done is trim all the pieces and roughly tape them to my mannequin. So I didnt get a lot of photos. Once I start sizing and edging I will be better at taking photos. But here is what I have so far. PS, iI will eventually put underarmor on the mannequin and get rid of the tracksuit hahaha!

Well, I WAS going to upload what I have so far but no matter how small I make the photos, it wont let me cause they are too big apparently?

any tips?

After failed attempts at joining Jolly Roger I thought I'd post here about my build and maybe get some feedback.

I thought I'd try a 3D printed helmet and use it as a mold for the final product. I'll be using a combination of vacuum forming, composite or sandwich construction with fiberglass and epoxy, and HydraCAL/Hydra Stone or something similar for casting.

I'd like to make this as accurate as possible even though it's not from an approved source.

My fear is that the scale of the helmet may be off. Once I get it finished maybe someone can compare some measurements from their Tie pilot helmet.

TD Question regarding back/kidney plate?

So I have a TD build almost finished and waiting for approval. Only issue is, I'm a tall trooper and there is a gap between my back plate and my kidney armor of about 4 inches or so. Is this an issue? If so, how do I fix it? Thanks ahead of time for your input!

Rogue One Shoretrooper - Droid Built!

So it's been a while since I've built anything - I got hit by a car while riding home from work and sadly my left hand was pretty badly broken, crushed little finger, 4 out of 5 metacarple broken! the hand was in a pretty bad way and I was sporting more metal in my left hand than a Skywalker!

So i'm well on the mend now with 4 sessions a week of physiotherapy and to get my mojo back I bought a Prusa i3 MK2s kit with the full intention of putting it to good use! The original plan was to build either a 1st Order Stormtrooper or a Death Trooper but having seen Sean Feild's amazing 3D files I decided to build this.

So first of all, Thank you Sean for these files, utterly utterly beautiful!

So first the 3-D Printer - this is an official Prusa i3 Mk2s kit build, yes I know there are clones for cheaper but as I was new to this I wanted and needed any support from a dedicated community. Obviously I got the black edition - it's an imperial droid after all!

So I decided that I would print off the small detail parts first to get a feel for the printer - after reading several forums and talking to a few people that 3D print for a profession I decided to use PETG for the build.

The greeblie came out perfectly so I then decided to move on to the more complex snout.

So far so good! (everything dry fitted nothing bonded)

I want to start sewing and this may be something to try and do on my own, but wondered if anyone out there has done one. i am on the Spec Ops forums but its kinda dead over there, and with only being 10 Swampys, its kinda hard to connect, Thanks all!

Hey all. I figured I'd throw up this thread to document this project I'll be working on. The CRL is incomplete, but I plan to help out by taking detailed pictures of each of my components by the end of this build.

I don't yet have armor in hand, but I'm narrowing down where I'm going to be sourcing that. I will be needing some transparent parts (shoulder bells, forearms, TD tube, and shins) and I know for sure that WTF has formed some clear helmets this past December (which look pretty damn cool). Just waiting for an update on their clear plastic shipment.

For the rest of the suit I'm leaning towards Scootch for his HIPS CAP-W kit, which I've had an easier time getting paint to stick to in my past experiences.

For lighting, I'll be going with some USB powered LED strips I can connect to smartphone battery banks velcro'd to the insides of my helmet and armor. Something like this is what I had in mind:
