What's your perception of Austria?

I am completely envious of their Maternity Leave allocation, both paid and unpaid time. Additionaly, Austria is like in the top 5 in best places for Breastfeeding support.

Oh. and mountains.

From my vist in 2000 I recall beautiful mountains, my friends homemade apple/pear schnapps, fast electric go carts, schnapps, mountain top paragliding, Weiss bier, quiet mountain towns with friendly people, more schnapps, then things get a little fuzzy !

I always read mountains mountains mountains. Big parts of Austria are flat. :)

I come from the wine quarter in lower Austria (next to Vienna).

We're famous for white wine (Grüner Veltliner DAC which is famous for his pepper flavour), wine cellars (next to my village there is the biggest wine cellar in middle europe), pumpkin festivals and Blasmusik.

You don't know what Blasmusik is? - here it is:

You like white wine and stay in Vienna? - let me know.

50min from Vienna you can taste different white wine sorts and eat "a gscheite Bretljausn" (brown bread, bacon, emmentaler, smoked meat with mustard and horseradish).

I love Austria. Was there several times during 2003-2004. Was kindof seeing and austrian girl at the time.

Awesome beautiful country.

Nice people, great beer, amazing places both man made and nature, love the coffehouses in Vienna, the chocolate, and most of the food...

Was lucky enough to stay with a family on the country side on the Southern part in a small village on the mountains during winter. Awesome!

Cool snowboarding, hicking and sledding.

Hope I can visit the country again sometime.

Saludos.

Oh, and hot wine on the christkindmarkets (sp?) on xmas.

Great Song - Great Musician.

Even after his death every few years new Falco songs have been released. It seems that each found tape will be reused.

Here is the current "Falco" chart breaker:

I keep seeing 'AUSTRALIA' each time I scroll past......

I was exactly the same!

I had see it for a while now but only today saw that Sonnenschein posted it, and I thought WTF why is she posting about Australia... then I read it again.

That's my Dyslexia kicking in. I read the first 3 letters and know what word it is already. Doesn't work all the time though.

I was going to post about AustrALia, because it participates in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria.

I still don't know why.

So does Israel. At least Australia is part of the British commonwealth. :)

You are missing and I and A at the end of Austria and you don't have kangaroos  :laugh1:

Good riddance to this, too. Ruffians, they are.

No Kangaroos in Austria. That's a winning tourist slogan right there! :D
