I come from the wine quarter in lower Austria (next to Vienna). We're famous for white wine (Grüner Veltliner DAC which is famous for his pepper flavour), wine cellars (next to my village there is the biggest wine cellar in middle europe), pumpkin festivals and Blasmusik. You don't know what Blasmusik is? - here it is: You like white wine and stay in Vienna? - let me know. 50min from Vienna you can taste different white wine sorts and eat "a gscheite Bretljausn" (brown bread, bacon, emmentaler, smoked meat with mustard and horseradish). Awesome beautiful country. Nice people, great beer, amazing places both man made and nature, love the coffehouses in Vienna, the chocolate, and most of the food... Was lucky enough to stay with a family on the country side on the Southern part in a small village on the mountains during winter. Awesome! Cool snowboarding, hicking and sledding.
