TX finished, time for a break

Recommended Posts

Finally got the finishing touches completed today. I still have a little tweaking on the fit, but all in all not bad. Here is a picture of my first fitting. I know it's a TX but I wouldn't have been able to complete it if it wasn't for all the help I got here on the FISD.

Thanks to everyone that helped this newbie out. I think I'll take a little break then I'll start on the TK.

Do you think I can get in the 501st with this TX?

I'll try to get some better pictures soon.

Do you think you pass 501st muster? Dude, does a bear s*** in the woods? :P

That TX is a complete badass. And just in time for Halloween! :duim:

Too bad the Spec Ops detachment doesn't have an elite program, if so you'd be gold. Let me be the first to say in advance - welcome to the 501st Legion. :salute:

Thanks, I have been posting over on the Spec Ops just not much going on over there. I am looking forward to going for my TX number with the 501st. Then I plan on hooking up with the 70th.

TK is in the box waiting. I do plan on taking my time on him.

This was a rush job. (More than I wanted too, for the young-uns Halloween escort)

I do plan on getting some better picture soon............time flies :)

From a TX to another TX, great job. It feels good to be a TX, not many around. It can get tiring when "uninformed" people start calling you Darth VAder or a Tie Pilot. Yeah, I know what you mean by not much posting over in the Spec Ops forum. So that helmet is the painted ATA?

Thanks,

It was challenging for my first build. Here is a shot from the front. Front.jpg

Man this thing is hard to take pictures of. Like a black mirror.

This is the TE2 helmet. I still have the ATA in the making process, (color sanding and detail painting). I'll post some finished pictures when I'm done. I hope to send in my pics to the 501st and get excepted. :icon_beg:

Feel free to keep posting here Bill - a trooper is a trooper, black or white. One TX is cool - it really takes 2-3 together to really look a treat, just like TK's.

It's an easy 501st pass, though I'd adjust the shoulder bells a little closer to the shoulder straps. Feel free to post more pix :)

Thanks for the input. I agree on the bells. I have some ATA bells that I'm going to try also, just got to get around to glossing them up. (Black Paint) I hope to get accepted into the 501st with the TX, I have a TK still in the box and I'll start on him soon (winter project).

My wife wants the garage back............

guys i have to build 1 of these soon for a mate of mine in my Garrison......how did u all build ur shins, thighs, forearms and biceps?? Did u just overlap and velcro or butt the edges together and glue a strip of ABS over the join like they did the TK's in the original films??

It depends on the kit.

Most TX troopers have FX kits, in which the seams are designed to overlap. However, I have seen a TM TX, and I believe ATA also makes TX kits. For those, you'd butt the edges and use a joining strip.

Absolutly right. It does depend on the armor make. Mine is a FX and overlaped. I used e6000 and it worked great.

After I glued it all together using a body dummy, (for fitting reason) I did my final trims to fit and funtion of movement. Other than slight mods and closing the side gaps, it's pretty much FX except for the lid.
