Another TE2 suit coming up.

Recommended Posts

Do you glue together both the front, and back of the arm and leg pieces? or do you apply velcro ?

Do you paint after all the glue is done?

Derek

I only add the strips on the fronts, not inside them.

I just take off the paint tape, when the E6000 is dry.

I will not paint the suit.

I will add a little:

NOVUS 2 fine scratch remover, and shine it a bit up.

Plus when i add the hair spray on the weathering, it will gloss up even more.

I don´t like to have paint on the body armor, and see it come more and more off when i troop in it.

So no paint, just as it is.

And as a sand trooper the i don´t need it to be high gloss either.

Check my suit from last time under www.starwarshelmets.com

Look under TE2, there you can see my suit non painted.

I will do the same this time :)

What about closing the backside of the lower leg - the curved portion of the calf muscle area. Is this closed with e6000 and permanently shut, or does it close with velcro in the back so that the piece opens up so you can get the foot through? I dont think I could get my foot through the fx lower leg without it opening.

The legs are closed both front, and back.

Just like the bicep, and arms.

Only the shins, are only closed on the front, but open on the back.

On the back, the stripe shall one be glued on the same side shin you wear.

The other one is free, and then the stripe overlap it when you wear it.

I have velcro on the inside, and a black velcro whit out glue on to open and lock, to hold the shins good together.

I don´t think i can get my foot through the shin, if i close the shin back side too.

do you leave it with that little gap in the back of the legs?

I like the idea of the velcro from the inside - is the black material elastic so that there is give?

will you put more velcro in the back of the calves to close the gap more?

The elastic, I believe, has velcro on the side that isn't facing the camera, and pull the shins together and attaches to the white velcro on the leg armor to clamp it together.

You got it right :) .

I just add normal white velcro whit glue on, to the inside shin.

And add black velcro whit out glue on, to hold the shin together (maybe i will add one more longer down, to close them up 100%).

I just glue the strip on the right side of the shin, on the right leg/shin.

And on the left side shin, on the left side leg/shin.

Nice Rolf! I was just looking at my box of TE2 yesterday and thinking of doing it finally!

Strips cut 2,5 cm for the legs, and shins.

2 cm for the bicep.

1,5 cm for the arms.

Really makes it look nice. So the Novus will buff it out pretty well huh? interesting. I like your style buddy! :)

Yeah i did the stripes like that.

I Denmark our spray paint is not strong enough for trooping.

So i will not paint it.

Just polish it a bit up whit Novus and weathering it, and then give it a good hair spray job like last time.

Here is a few shots of my last TE2:

If i do a TE2 TK next time, i might just give it a spray lacquer job... it will gloss it up too, but not come off like paint do.

Cheers :)

It was this suit, and these pics specifically, that made me want to go TD. And after that, Mike's suit, on the toy package. But the eye cuts on your helmet were a bit meaner looking.

And when Mike assembled the TE2 helmet for me, he did a similar look, and I think he said by accident since the heat from the glue gun caused the eye to squint a bit. See...

Here a few weathering pics:

1. I will not use all the colours in the woodland brand set.

I have mix two browns my self, from a older kit.

Its the two last ones to the right.

I only used 4 colours, and its the 4 tones from the right.

I will used a cut up t-shirt, a kitchen cloth, a bucket of wather, and thats it:

P8096721.jpg

2. I add the second darkest of the two browns i have made, to make the details i want in the suit:

P8096730.jpg

P8096731.jpg

3. Then i will add the sand tone, in there.

Just beside the brown one:

P8096733.jpg

4. Then the yellow a like, not too much.

Because it can quick turn too yellow a like:

P8096735.jpg

4. I then take the bucket of wather, the kitchen cloth.

Touch it here and there, where i have add the weathering:

P8096738.jpg

And here you see the suit, after 5 hours work:

P8106747.jpg

P8106748.jpg

P8106749.jpg

I have not add the hair spray on yet, but i will today.

It will give the suit a more shine/gloss a like look in the end.

Hope you like him.

Cheers troops :)
