John Child's TFA First Order Trooper Build (Imperial Surplus)

Hi, I already started on my build a few months ago, but someone reached out and suggested I make a WIP thread here. Makes sense... As White Armour has been my go-to for trying to work out how to put this all together. My WIP is slightly different as I'm also documenting in detail a video log on my channel. Wondering why the following posts are the same date?! It's just to catch everyone up what I've done so far :)

So we start with what and were I purchased everything so far. I've been soooo LUCKY that someone abandoned his attempt to make his armour, and sold all his 'soft' items for half the price he bought it for. Being in the UK as me, this was AMAZABALLS, as I didn't have to also pay for the HUGE import taxes and delivery charges from the US, Germany, Canada and Oz.

First I downloaded The5thHorseman 3D file I found on this site. But I also added my bespoke light & sound effects using my girlfriends voice. Yep it's not cannon (pun intended), but I can turn it off at an official event.
Here's the full video and some pics... (CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO)

As mentioned at the start, I was lucky to purchase almost all the supplementary - soft stuff, from an absolute gentlemen that abandoned his build due to waiting years for armour that didn't come.

Now that I've caught you up, here's my first video building/preparing the armour. I will dedicate a video to each piece.

Episode 4 of my Storm Trooper armour build now available to stream. One of the larger parts that took up a lot of space. One day I’ll look back at this from my huge fully equipped Tony Stark Iron Man style workshop and be amazed how I did it... Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

My cheap solution paint spraying larger props & models such as my First Order Storm Trooper armour. Ideal for those with no indoor space or facilities to extract sticky dangerous fumes while protecting the wet paint from flies using it as a landing pad.

*EDIT: I've since discovered the FA Thermal Detonator has a visable seam between the canister and backplate. I will redo this at some point, but for now this will still look passable.

Awkward to join without lots of gaps due to it being a multiple part vac-form. But I got there in the end with endless filler, paint and repeat.

To give my Stormtrooper armour a narrative as well as protect it when knocked about at home while in storage. I’ve sewn themed bags specifically to the size and shape of each armour piece. Made as if how the trooper in the Star Wars world would be presented their armour.

Very nice, love the labels, I only hand wrote mine, I may need an upgrade ;)

In case you haven't tried/tested just be careful using black material, sometimes it can bleed into the paint,, I found this with my first set of armor protectors, luckily it polished out with some auto compound polish, could have been humidity or slightly sweaty armor.

Kind of surprised this ones flown under the radar so long here!  I've been enjoying the videos and am about half way the the Enterprise D build as well now.

I see you have a WIP in the UKG to, they will ensure you end up trooping fit.
