Hi, I'm working on a Deathtrooper and I feel I may have messed up and I'm so stuck and confused right now. Is there anyone that could message me with some help and to answer some questions for me?? I would post them here but it would be a huge list. Thanks!

Hi Shanda!  When you say Deathtrooper, do you mean this:  9a8qzqS.jpg?1   or this:  UDCueS9.jpg?1

CRL link here                                   CRL link here

The first one (TK) we can help you with, as that is one of the costumes we deal with here on the FISD.  If you mean the second one (TX), that costume is part of the Special Ops Detachment.  I have provided a links to both of the CRLs for you.  Hope this helps!

What exactly do you need to know, Shanda?  I'm pretty familiar with this armor and can probably help, but my buddy Charles (Templar 726) of the GA. Garrison has perhaps the best looking Deathtrooper I have ever seen!  I've trooped with him while he was wearing this armor, and it's truly spectacular up close.  You can find a link to his build here.

If you have a particular issue, let us know, and posting up a few pics will help a lot!

I don't think you overdid it at all, and I think the black should stay ("weapon damage") but you need to add some more color.  As per the CRL, it should be aged with drab olive green, dark yellow and hues in between.  Remember that when blood dries, it turns brown, some some brown paint (tinged with a bit of red) should be good.

I would suggest trying out some color schemes on a bicep or calf to test it out and then post some photos.

I'm not sure is I goofed up and did it too black. And then how light can the green/yellow be and also what colors of  apple barrel acrylic paints would make a good blood color?

You want to stick by the CRL and also reference for the character, gallery is here

For a blood red I find red mixed with some black and brown works well, you only need a small amount to darken.

OK, so the photo showing the wound is totally grotesque, and I LOVE it!  The only thing missing is the black blast marks around it, and perhaps some blood splatters.  You are definitely on the right track!

That was before the black paint. I used Gregory French's (Deathtrooper and TWD walker) tutorial on making the zombie goo.  I may be nervous I have read through all the threads and the crl so many time and others build threads but I'm flustered and feel I'm messing up and gonna look awful. (Thanks 501st for giving  me OCD when it comes to suits lol)

Some very fine weathering and detailing there, well done, hope to see you applying for EI and Centurion as we haven't seen a Death trooper at those levels for a while.
