On the 6th of March, 2020 Moon Degeimbre (DZ-81965) passed away. Though Moon had only officially become a member the Belgian Garrison and Tornacum Squad in March of 2020, she had been active in the community for years. Helping others was Moon’s passion. Be it as costume designer, trooper support at events, or in bringing smiles to children at hospital events, Moon was happy. May her energy and joy continue to inspire her trooping family. She is survived by her companion, Emmanuel (TI-72806.)

Our condolences go out to her family, friends.

"Buckets Off"

On the 5th of March, 2019 Eric M. Lavine (TK-5774) passed away. Eric was a kind, caring member of Garrison Carida. He earned the nickname “C-A” after accidentally assembling his Stormtrooper armor backwards using cyanoacrylate adhesive. Eric loved to entertain others while trooping using his Jar Jar hand puppet. Eric was also known to ride hide skateboard in full armor. With every event Eric sought to strengthen friendships with his fellow garrison mates and create new ones.

Our condolences go out to his family, friends.

"Buckets Off"

On the 22nd of March, 2021 David Evans (SL-14310) passed away. Dave proudly wore the Dark Armor of Darth Vader when he trooped with the Diamond Garrison. Dave was also a pastor for Harmony Church and frequently traveled on missions in his service. He is survived by his children Anakin, Brittney and Zachariah.

Our condolences go out to his family, friends.

Greetings fellow members, and welcome to another exciting edition of the FISD Newsletter!

2021 is a huge year for the detachment, as  we just hit another milestone with our 500th approval for Centurion, yep that's right, We have done it!!! and you can read all about it in the special section further down the page.

It's also our 15th anniversary in a few months time. That is going to be a year long celebration in itself starting in July.

There will be merch to celebrate both these occasions but first, keep an eye open for the C500 exclusive pin sales thread  open now on the forums.

As you may or may not be aware, we have a  design contest currently running for our 15th anniversary coin so please also go check that out and submit your design for a chance to become part of our detachment history.

Because we like to keep changing things up, there is always something new to see on the FISD forums. Much work is ongoing to revitalize and refresh as much as possible, and because we have so much to celebrate  this year, that also means building and refining some of the older sections.

For this one, the plan was to make it very easy for you to take a walk down memory lane and see the foundations of FISD, how the detachment has grown in size, developed and transformed over the years.

With that I would like to officially announce the launch of the The Newsletter Archives!

Seemed fitting to announce that in the newsletter lol.

This is a new sub section of the forums found Here

This sub forum of the Announcements section, is a compilation of our Newsletters from the very first edition in 2010.

Now while searching, unfortunately some of the older newsletters were missing but we pieced together what we could from various old threads where newsletter discussions had taken place to recreate the ones we could.

We believe it is much easier having them all together so you no longer need to search through pages of other posts to find any of them.

They tell a great story and each one is a mini time capsule of the month to month life at The First imperial Stormtrooper detachment.

We hope you take a look and enjoy some of our history.

I hope you enjoy this special edition of our monthly newsletter and until next addition, stay safe and well and we look forward to celebrating with you all.

Greetings once again, Stormtroopers, and Stormtrooper enthusiasts!

This is truly an exciting issue of the FISD Newsletter!  I mean, just look at it - it even looks exciting, doesn't it?

Speaking of looking at the Newsletter, Glen does tremendous work, and we are truly fortunate that somehow, he also managed to find his way to our happy little Stormtrooper corner of the internet.  We all benefit greatly from his presence, in ways most of us never realize, so a tip of the bucket to Glen for his amazing work and dedication over the years.  We probably don't thank him enough, so thank you Glen.  You rock, brother!

So, here we are at last, Centurion 500!  Be sure to check out the approval thread, and share your congratulations before you head to the merch page, and share your hard earned Imperial Credits...

I know that for many of us, the opportunity to troop is starting to happen as the weather begins to get nicer again.  Be sure to think back to what you used to do for troops and prepare for any new ones in a smart and responsible fashion.  Make sure that you hydrate, use the facilities before armoring up, all that good stuff.  Some of us may find that our armor has shrunk...  To paraphrase King Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones, get the armor stretcher out before you head to the event, and make sure that everything still fits in a way that you can wear it comfortably.  :)

As I mentioned last month, I will be attending the ICCCon in Nashville, TN next weekend.  If any of you are also attending, be sure to stop by the booth of the Peter Mayhew Foundation and say hello!

Get out there and troop, and do so safely.  We love hearing about and seeing photos of your Stormtroopery exploits and adventures!

Coming out of hyperdrive and crossing the finish line in first place, congratulations Trina "Architect18112"  TK18112 our 500th Centurion and also congratulations to each and everyone one of our 500 approved Centurions, without you we would never have won this race.

From some of the staff

Congratulations trooper, welcome to Centurion :jc_doublethumbup:

It's been my honor and pleasure since 2015 to encourage troopers like yourself to shoot for the higher levels of accuracy. That said you're the FISD's 500th applicant and it brings me great joy to welcome you to this very unique group that strives for excellence. Job well done

Congratulations trooper!

Cheers and welcome to Centurion! #500

Congratulations #500 Centurion !!!   Thank you for your effort and for being part of this new FISD milestone . :th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

Congratulations #500 and welcome to the rank of Centurion!

Thank you for your effort and being a part of the FISD community!

It has certainly been an exciting journey that I have had here at the FISD, and that journey has included my own Centurion application and approval experiences.  I remember very well, my excitement, and that of other members who had encouraged me along the way.

Well, this is a very exciting day for all of us, but especially for you!  This is like a surprise birthday party at the office, as truly, the entire Detachment is joining to celebrate your achievement in having earned the title of Centurion at FISD.

Congratulations, on having done so.  Thank you, for having done so - your achievement will inspire future generations of FISD Stormtroopers and future Stormtroopers alike, to follow in your footsteps.  So yes, thank you for your commitment, your hard work, your diligence in making this happen.  We are all proud of you,, #500!

Now, let's reflect on how awesome an achievement this is, and let the celebrations begin!

Dark CMF

Congratulations on being Centurion 500!!!  This is such an amazing milestone!  You have done an awesome job on your build.  Another proud moment for this detachment and all of its members.  Welcome to the ranks of Centurion and enjoy every second of it!

Trina, this is a proud moment for the Detachment, and one I'm sure you will remember for a lifetime.

You have taken the steps to become a member of our highest accuracy level and can be proud to stand alongside your Centurion brothers and sisters.

Thank you for taking this journey, and becoming part of a detachment milestone, to not only join one of the 500, but to become the 500th centurion. :salute:

Stand by for your deployment order Trooper

Congratulations to number 500! An FISD milestone, and history-making moment you should be very proud of! :salute:

Taking a look back at the history of the Centurion program

Like the march to 1000 EIB I went through the forum looking for information on how the Centurion program first came about. First time I believe it was mentioned was in the Paul's election Q & A back in February 2009 (thread can be found here

There was next a poll in March 2009 to decide whether to keep the name Elite or change to Centurion (thread can be found here)  Lots of names came up in the discussion and in the end the poll was closed with Paul commenting a new poll would be posted.

Next came a conversation in February 2011 with the program named Centurion (thread can be found here

And another mention end of February 2011 in staff area with goals in 2011 for creation of the program, also conversation about artwork and discussion of the name either Legion Centurion or just Centurion.

March 2011 and Paul posted in the announcement area the creation of the Centurion program (thread can be found here)  and also the Centurion program overview (thread can be found here

First Centurion standards are added to ANH CRL in April 2011 and announced in April's Newsletter (thread can be found here

Some of the early artwork, variants in color and font

Unfortunately I can't find any record of the final design of the Centurion logo that we see today,

It was added to the draft Centurion certificate design in May 2011

FIRST patch run of the red FISD detachment logo May 2012  (thread can be found here) It was thought that there had only ever been one run of the red version detachment patch BUT after doing some research for another newsletter piece I discovered there was also a run in 2014 and also 2015 which makes three runs total.

12" Version was produced in both blue and red 2016  (thread can be found here) If you are one of the lucky ones you may have purchased a 12" version which was produced in 2016 which also had an option of a larger centurion rocker, the 12" version and rocker where only produced once.

Please Note: the images below have never been produced as merchandise, the designs where only used in conjunction with the Centurion500 promotion

Multiple Centurion award recipients

There are a total of 17 multiple Centurion awards recipients, this was quite interesting to see after all we had 64 multiple EIB award recipients so I presumed most would have also applied to Centurion but that is not the case.

Unlike EIB where you are issued with a star for each additional award received, for Centurion you only receive the one award any other additional Centurion awarded costumes have [APPRVOED] 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on added to the title but nothing added to your forum profile.

Forgive me if I have missed anyone, here are those multiple reward recipients, congratulations to you all.

Once again congratulations and thank you to all who have taken part in the Centurion500, now on to 1,000 :salute:

We've done it, we dropped out of hyperspace and we crossed the finish line first, the Centruion500 has run it's race and as promised we have an amazing prize for this milestone, available ONLY to the first 500 approved Centurions:

Another beautiful metal pin to match the Expert Infantry exclusive, commemorating this historic event, sales thread here

NOTE: run closing May 9th, 2021 OR UNTIL WE REACH 500 PINS ORDERED.

As most would be aware we are diligently working through the forums updating watermarked images, missing images and broken links, this has taken over a year so far and has been a monumental task but there is still a lot of work ahead of us. Members build threads are one of the biggest areas of watermarked/missing images and we are asking you the membership to help and update your build threads yourselves as this is just too big a task for staff.

For any build threads found after May 1st we will be archiving them, don't panic they are not gone just moved from main forum areas NOTE: access to the archived areas is restricted to staff only so to access any of these threads again for any future editing you will have to contact one of our admin staff.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Aren't you a little alien to be a Stormtrooper

There’s no truth to the rumors that Kathleen Kennedy is being replaced as the head of Lucasfilm, Disney CEO Bob Chapek assured shareholders on an investor’s call recently. Chapek was asked rather bluntly if Kennedy was being replaced by Dave Filoni or Jon Favreau – both of whom have been building out the Disney+ Star Wars realm with shows like The Mandalorian and the upcoming The Book of Boba Fett. Taken aback, Chapek responded:

“We’ve been absolutely thrilled that we can have the kind of talent like Kathy Kennedy to direct Lucasfilm… We look forward to having Kathleen Kennedy running the Lucasfilm organization for many years to come.”

Rumors have been swirling about Kennedy being replaced for years, but it has largely just been some wishful thinking on the part of disgruntled fans. George Lucas chose Kennedy as his successor when he sold Lucasfilm to Disney, and she oversaw the expansion of the Star Wars universe with new Skywalker Saga films, spinoffs, and TV shows. Things got off to a pretty great start with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the first spinoff Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a huge box office success, but the Force Awakens sequel Star Wars: The Last Jedi rubbed some fans the wrong way (despite the fact that it’s a brilliant film).

The divided fan reaction to The Last Jedi was exacerbated by the accelerated release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, which became the lowest-grossing Star Wars movie to date by a wide margin, and which suffered its own production problems when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were replaced during film by Ron Howard.

The rumors of Kennedy’s seat being in jeopardy even extended to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, and we asked Feige directly earlier this year if he was involved in upcoming Star Wars movies beyond the one he’s production, and he flatly said no.

Chapek’s affirmation of Kennedy’s position should hopefully put those rumors to rest, and all in all Kennedy has been successful at relaunching one of the biggest franchises in the world while also steering its expansion into the live-action TV realm.

Currently (as of 5th April ) there are 31,045 approved costumes in the legion, out of these there are 5,661 under the TK ID which is 18.28% of all approved 501st costumes. Interestingly if you look back through previous totals Stormtroopers equated to over 20% which shows a decline in our ranks.

E-11 Prop Details

I ran across this video quite by accident and was amazed, I must have looked at these images 1,000's of times but yet missed these. Check out the video below.

You can find some in depth discussion and more images here

Currently these detailed pieces are being looked at as an optional extra not a higher level requirement, there are a few different variations of the detailed pieces and also the blasters can be seen by different actors at different times, Han can be seen in the same scene using 2 different blasters so there is no real consistency.

Our very own deployment officer Joseph @justjoseph63 has spent some time working on these detailed pieces and is now offering them to the membership, he is kindly selling them at cost plus shipping, you can find his thread here.

Thank you Joseph, truly a perfect example of FISD's mantra "troopers helping troopers" :salute:

For a full list of FISD awards head here

Are you new to the FISD and wondering what the heck all those abbreviations and strange sounding terms mean?  To help you @justjoseph63 has started a list of the most commonly used ones that will give you some insight.  If you have ANY questions about a particular term that is not listed or suggestions for new ones please contact Joseph. You can find the list here

Pre Approval Forum allows future Troopers the opportunity to submit photos of their completed build to be reviewed by the Staff, Imperial Attaches and others in preparation for forwarding it to their GML for approval.  Any and all advice/suggestions given will be specific, constructive, helpful and respectful. Please note that this program will NOT take the place of your local GML, as Detachments are not chartered for costume approval and can not override a GMLs decision, but is instead a peer review program designed to help you look your best and offer guidance and positive feedback.  For more information on this program, please visit the link here

Don't forget to visit our 3D section when next surfing the FISD forums, there is plenty of useful information to potentially help you on your next TK adventure. You might be feeling may generous and share with our community a new TK related 3D file and maybe win yourself a 3D contributors award DGx4MwQ.png  DjQ8bJi.png so check out the details below and be part of the in house 3D community.  Here is a link to the FISD 3D Contributor program.

Don't forget to create a troop log here on FISD and get awarded for your adventures The list of accomplished troopers keeps growing, so get on board and register your troops today Simply start (or update!) your troop log, keep the running total in the title, and post (at least!) a date and name for the official 501st event where you wore your TK! Once you've hit a milestone count, go over to the "Field Exercise Awards -- Post your milestones here" thread to request your profile be updated!  Simple, right?

Want to setup a "Fire Team?  the Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here

So what exactly are kKf6hGu.png and QrRRhuF.png levels?

These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval.  It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here

This area lists all those who have gone above and beyond basic approval toward screen accuracy and obtained EIB or Centurion or both.  FOR  March - April the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment would like to congratulate:

Hey hey you amazing troopers!!!
It’s your ever elusive, friendly, neighborhood IG PR lady here!!!!

I know right? Who is this woman!!!
(I’ve never posted here before, and figured it was time!)

Bit about myself first as I’ve never officially introduced myself.
On all the forums across every Detachment, I’m known as SoulArt. You may also know me as Geeky Pink/Pink Lady/Snow Queen/Captain Sassy or just Teresa.
I’ve been a Legion member for 5 years , this month in fact, joining with ANH-Stunt, followed by TFA Captain Phasma, and one of a handful of Lady Centurion Troopers. I proudly serve the FISD as our Instagram PR, belong to The Badlands Garrison in Canada, where I’m one of the PR Officers/GEC and Squad Leader for Crimson Aurora Squad. Also happily as one of the moderators on the Captain Phasma Costuming page on Facebook.

I LOVE costuming, am an OCD lover of details, and have several costumes approved in the Legion. (It’s an addiction) I’d really like one costume in each of the 16 Detachments, and I’m working on that! I have a Pink BB unit, and hope to also complete costumes in a couple more Sibling groups to also be apart of every bit of magic we can offer to the world. And I LOVE the color pink. And glitter.

This past year and half I’ve struggled alongside the rest you, and somehow, we are going to make it through. Together. It’s been REALLY hard for so many.
As far as costuming goes, maybe it’s harder to start a build because you’re just drained and trying to survive-Perhaps you decided you need some joy and said this was the year to be a Trooper!!! Whatever has brought you here, WE are here. The FISD is full of information, Attaches, Command Staff and fellow Troopers willing to help you, or even just chat with to converse with. Someone is always awake!

Rat, Ripper and I are always on the search for content. Many countries are still on a ban and may be doing Virtual Trooping. Some of you are out there again. As requested from Rats posting, he’s hoping for some Autism photos.

I would humbly request MORE!!!! (In my best Kylo voice...) dust those costumes off, or whip them on and I promise to make the effort worthwhile... why not dress for several events all at once! Dig out craft supplies and make posters. Drag out the vinyl cutters and create decals for your armor, shop for costume accessories. Gather all you need, and have fun with a photo shoot of yourself.

I would love to see (and need) photo submissions for 501st Day (May. 1st) May the Fourth, Revenge of the 5th
Also anyone that celebrates Canada Day, Independence Day, your countries days as well as Pride Celebrations.
All these events and celebrations are coming up for May, June, July etc.
If you’re going to dress for
one, dress for them all!!!
Heck! We’ll take any of your favorite photos and troops. Just send them over!

When submitting, please do add all the info Rat mentioned.
Photographer if applicable.
Event or occasion with a bit about the day or why you’re trooping.
You can get photos to me here via PM. Or on the FISD Facebook page tagging myself, or through FB messenger.

That’s about it for April’s newsletter for me. We’ve now been officially introduced! Hoping you are safe, healthy, doing ok and hanging in there. Remember you’re never alone here. Keep your chins up Troopers.

This is another landmark news letter Glen, thank you for the huge amount of work you put into constructing these and getting them out to the members.

So much info in this addition folks and another time to celebrate a detachment achievment. Congratulations Trina on centurion 500, so much awesome.

Congratulations on the 500th Centurion! I'm curious who will be the 501st Centurion :D

Regarding that 12" FISD-Patch: Is there a Chance that there will be a reissue of this patch? I know the chance is low as there just was a big backpatch for the EIB1000 but it would be awesome :)

The issue is merch spots with only 6 allotted to detachments now, in the past you could do how many you liked.

I missed the last run myself and I've asked several times for another but to date no luck. I will pose the question in staff.

The forum archives link broken? Or does it only show own threads if you got some moved to there?

Hey Tom,I have checked permissions for the newsletter archives and they are set so all members can see them, reply but not create new threads within to maintain the integrity of the archive.

Not sure why you can't access them, maybe clear your cache and try again. I did refresh the permissions so I hope that helps. :)

This girl is a goal-getter and finally the most coveted badge is now under my name. I am deeply honored to join the elite ranks and even more the 500th Centurion!

But this would not be possible without the support, advices and suggestions of you guys… FISD, Detachment staff and DOs. (Special thanks to Sly11, TKSpartan, TheSwede, justjoseph63, ShaSha)

Thank You Very Much Everyone! (in Filipino: Maraming Salamat!)

Slow clap to all the men and women before me… the Strong Centurion 500. We all did it! Congratulations FISD! Cheers! :peace:

Well, it seems...I’m not too short to troop after all. :dancing-trooper:

Meant this (https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/43-forum-archives/ ) from the Build threads part of the newsletter

Ok, I’ll get one of Admins to check permissions there, I’m AFK for the next 4 days and not sure on how they are set.

The archives are not a public forum, only admins have access.  @Dark CMF put it brilliantly "Yeah, archives are/have always kind of been like the areas behind the scenes in a museum. There is probably some cool stuff there, but it isn't meant for public viewing. That's why the stuff gets archived."

If you can point me to specific thread links we can look at those specifically and see if they should be moved somewhere publicly available.

I fully disagree with that sentiment.  I see a lot of mistakes made because people can't search the archives.   What value is keeping them out of public view?

Wording should be changed then a bit on the newsletter telling that that part requires staff intervention.

I've raised this in the staff area and we will come up with a new approach.

That’s a nice read. Well done everyone involved. Must admit I’ve not been on here recently. Keep up the great work.

So glad to see this milestone reached. Let us hope it takes far less time for EIB2000 and Centurion1000.
