Nice work trooper, a few suggestions before the DO's get here

 

Appears you have quite a lot of excess belt you may want to trim down, also the shoulder bridges appear quite wide, you may want to take of a little more material. Also appears your rear shin cover strips go all the way over the top ridge, should stop just below the top ridge, even if you don't have mobility cuts

   

 

 

I would even out the gaps between your elbows and wrists just for a more consistant look

 

Butt plate is overlapping the kidney, you may need to adjust the strapping. Belt corners normally meet the width of the belt 

 

You may want to remove a little bit of paint as it appears you have some on the gums, you could also bring the sides of the vocoder paint up a little more

 

 

Looks like you may have some weathering on the handle/grip, this as well as T-tracks where made from plastic so they would be black with no weathering

 

Nice work on the TD, ideal is to have the screws closer to the panel but you will be ok for approval

Thanks Glenn! I’ve updated my post with the requested photos. I had them but didn’t see them in the EIB photo checklist so I thought they were for centurion. Also removed weathering from E-11 and updated the submission photos.

The butt plate has been driving me nuts. Not sure what I’m doing that is causing the corners to pull down. I’ll play with the strapping.

I’ll get to work on the others items forthwith Sir! Thanks for the quick reply.

It may be a case of loose strapping. But in other cases you need to hold the sides in, I came up with a V tab which can help, some info here

 

With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side (normally kidney) and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate.

Corrections complete.

 

Weathering removed from grip and t-tracks on E11 (photos updated in first post).

 

Little bit of paint removed from gums and paint brought up a little higher on voice coder (photos updated in first post).

 

Trimmed about 1/4” of trim from each shoulder bridge (see new photos below).

 

Rear shim cover strips removed from top ridge of both right and left calf armor (see new photos below).

 

For butt plate issue, I had the belt cinched too tight, which caused not only excess belt to extend beyond TD, but also the kidney plate to be pulled in too tight causing the butt plate to overlap the center of kidney and the alignment issues seen in original full body shots. I believe I have it rectified (see new photos below).

Lookin' sharp, Dennis, and great job on that butt plate fix!  One last thing before I can get started, sir... the paint on your teeth needs to be dialed back a bit.  As per the CRL for Basic approval, the "Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area".  This is actually a very common issue and a pretty easy fix!  I suggest using Goof-Off (a citrus based paint remover), a toothpick or two and a few cotton swabs to remove the extra parts at the top.  10-15 minutes of work on this and you will be golden!  Looking forward to seeing the updated pics so we can get that EI badge under your name, trooper!

OK Dennis, this is my fault plain and simple so I must apologize in advance for missing this before.  You have done an absolutely incredible job in jumping on the requested fixes brother (and know that we appreciate it) but as I was working on your application I just noticed that your Hovi-tip screen mesh is not correct.  As per the CRL for Level 2 it must be the wide type mesh.  I know Mario @TKSpartan has a tutorial on this, so I would hit him up for some advice.  It's a pretty quick fix once you have the material and 10 minutes of time, and you are SO CLOSE!!

We got faith in ya' sir, and I am honestly looking forward to awarding you your EI badge soon because I know Centurion will be your next step!

You got this man. Love these gents. Look at it this way (silver lining), once you change mesh, you have 100% bragging rights to say “...and I even changed the MESH!!”

Here it is. Hope this can be useful.

 

Personally what I have done several times to fix this is as follows.

 

A- Remove the mesh from tips . I have used knife, screwdriver and plier.

B- look for a strainer with the proper mesh

 

   

 

 

C- Use a permanent marker top and a rubber hammer  to give the shape to the mesh.  

 

   

 

 

D-  Paint the hovi tips inside and rim with white acrylic and cut the mesh with a minimal edge.

 

  

 

E- Place the mesh into the tip carefully and reassemble to the helmet.

Here’s the hovi with proper screen. Should seen my wife’s face when I ran into the kitchen on the eve of Thanksgiving to grab the strainer out of the drawer. Told her was all for the Empire. The look I got...would have rather faced an angry Vader lol. Thank the force we had a newer one we just bought a few months ago.

CRL and EIB Application Requirements

All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to EI!  On behalf of the entire DO staff, congratulations!!  

 

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly

In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor.  Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions.

 

First, I gotta' say that your determination (and speed) on taking care of the requested fixes mentioned so far has been phenomenal!  Just a couple of items here... nothing major that will affect Level 3 approval, but if you have the time and want to address them that would be great!

 

In looking at your ears, you seem to have quite a bit of extra material at the bottoms.  In a perfect world they should be a bit thinner and have more of a taper.  Not a biggie, just something worth mentioning.

You did a wonderful job on the overlap issue, but now it's time to make sure that the posterior plate doesn't ride out.  A simple strapping adjustment will take care of this.

As pointed out earlier, ideally the to screws on your TD should be closer to the ends of the clip.

Centurion Requirements

In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here.

Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper

 

Not a lot to see here, but a few important items that I feel completely confident that you can handle!

 

I get the feeling they are present, but due to the angles of the photos I can't see the thin white elastic bands that go over the shoulder straps/back plate tabs.  A few close-up pics if when you submit for Centurion would be perfect!

There are 2 items here that can be addressed with one fix, brother.  In the first photo you have a gap, but the tops of your ab/kidney line up perfectly.  In the second image, the gap is pretty much gone but the tops are a bit askew.   In essence, the tops need to line up and the gap should not be present.

This is what I would suggest:

I noticed you have no strapping on the left side (photos 1-2) of the ab/kidney connection as you do on the right side (photo 4) so I would add at least 2 straps  (photo 3) to not only eliminate the gap but keep them lined up just right.

Although not mentioned specifically in the CRLs, the ends of your thigh ammo pack extend a bit too far back.  Ideally, the ends should be slightly in front of the rear ridge corners at the bottom of the thigh.  5 careful minutes with a razor knife, tin-snips or your wife's kitchen shears (on second thought, maybe not the shears, lol) and you are in good shape!

Gentlemen, I thank you very much for all of your assistance and encouragement! It has been a very edifying and rewarding experience. I will work on these suggested adjustment today and submit my Centurion app by tomorrow. And I won’t be touching my wife’s kitchen shears . I’m still getting the stink eye over the strainer lol.

I also want to thank fellow Garrison mates [mention]David G [/mention] and [mention]A.J. Hamler [/mention] for their inspirational EIB submissions. I’ll be using there Centurion apps as a guide as well. And fellow Garrison mate, [mention]gatetrooper [/mention] .
