Screen used holster

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, i found a nice piece of thick black leather and i thought it would be an interesting experiment see if i can make a e-11 holster.

I know i can buy a holster from several people but i just wanna know if i can do it.

I have the patterns and the tools but, the sewing concerns me, i don't know the size of the thread, the distance of each stitch and the distance from the edge of the leather.

Is there any "in between" takes, auction, private collection detailed photo of a screen used E-11 holster?, Has anyone seen one?.

Is the fist time i see a picture of an screen used holster, it seems to be... the dc-17 holster?.

Funny, the stitching is white.

Yeah, the RS holster isn't a normal holster. But it's the only one known of in private hands, and also the easiest to get pictures of. And while it's different, it may give you some ideas on the stitching at least.

True, it gives me some ideas.

Too bad that there is no much info about the screen used holsters.

Thanks man, is the first an only picture of a screen used holster that i have seen.

Very hard to find sources for stitching and width, these are probably the best images, you could also check out this thread

Well guys, it happened that my neighbor had some thick leather laying around his home and he sold it to me, i managed to build a holster and i would love to share a couple o pictures with all you and have the privilege to receive some feedback.

It does not have rivets or the snap, I'm not sure the size of those, can you help me with that?3edc954468d4c9dcb56387f95472680c.jpg4b44fc99e2f3bf541c5a7c0c4d0b97bb.jpg

Nice work, came out great.

You can make the holster removable, easier to store and transport, I use 8mm cap rivets and behind Line 24 (5/8")

Jmmm... I see, is a good idea, and what about where the strips join the holster? Should i use pop rivets?, Chicago screws?, Double cap rivets?

Ok... The ones i have now are too short, i think i can find longer ones.

If i use pop rivets, do i need to use washer?

Hi again guys.

i was digging frames from A New Hope to see if i could come up with some additional info about the holsters.

In Mark Hamill's belt we can early see a pop rivet, which makes me think than in the holster most likely were used the same.

Now the doubt that i just can't clarify, ¿how the strap for securing the E-11 was attached to the holster?

¿Was simply put on and riveted, without anything else?

¿Was passed through the holster to the other side (the back) and riveted?

¿Was a little square used? (Like with the two hang straps)

I will leave you with some screenshots from the movie3ab81691eb6973fdddb4db16c3557061.jpg3c75aa6a4f9d9e5a5b4f053db2940087.jpg914f0c3674b7467f9068971255d7ef14.jpg41ea3a9cb4e3a25f3ba1f6c66bd894f4.jpg422c55e4435de06617bc4fe965e7d6f6.jpga9599c44699029596ae5b54e9cd1a875.jpg2d55e790ff0d7b0aeaf82939ad7e72a5.jpg

Yes, the holsters were simply pop riveted on to the belt, using a washer on the back to keep them from pulling out. Check out our reference galleries.

Tapatalk might not display my examples properly, use a browser.

I think he means the blaster holding strap, how that is connected to the actual holster. I don't think we have any closeups of an original screen used E-11 holster on the RS version.

I know many use a brad, some cut a T on the end of the strap, pass it through a small slit and the T end stops it pulling through.

Ah, my bad.

Well, it's still just riveted on to the holster. You see here that it bends upwards before coming down, and just below the bend where it's a bit darker you see the 2 layers on top of each other.
