Help! Is fit normal??? Adjestments needed or parts to be replaced?ANH Hero Armor

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am seeking feedback on fitment and overall look. As of now, basic, but I'd eventually would like to shoot for level 3. And will do whatever it takes to reach that. I'd like the overall look, while having to be mobile in armor. Adjustments have been made to kidney plate, cod piece and thighs. Thighs: Trimmed from the top (since movement was restricted / was bit passed my knees before). Cod piece: Trimmed and repositioned higher to avoid rubbing on thighs / fit better with my proportions. Kidney: Trimmed (originally very roomy, but now I can get into it. Before It had to be attached to the chest, inorder to work. So, pretty sure I need to rearrange the poppers inside, so the kidney plate can close fully (one poppers has fallen and needs to be replaced.) But my concern is will these adjustments through off the look of the armor... Still have rubbing, but not as bad as before making adjustments. Do I need to take more off the thighs? Is that thigh gap too big, or is that normal? Is my armor still to roomy for my body? Did I take too much off the kidney plate? What can I do? What do *you* notice that needs what? If I need to replace parts, please say so. I'd rather not use pads. Belt now sits loosely, due to minimizing space in the stomach section. (haven't attempted to fix that). Armor parties will be harder for me, unless if I were to travel about 4-ish hours away. But if I must, I will. If there is anyone in the Nevada Garrison that can help, that'd be very much appreciated. Will be closer to my location (Saint George, Utah). Thank you all in advance for those that do comment. - JC Alva

P.s. Where / how can I upload pics easier onto here? Would like to provide more pics.

Hello and welcome aboard, a few fuller length photos would best help us to help you. Most use an online free image host such as Imgur, some info in this thread

If you are having an issue with height and armor being too big you may find some useful help in these builds

Thank you so much for suggesting imgur. I have made a new post to follow up with this, but with more pictures with an imgur link. Please let me know what you think. - JC

The thigh gaps look PERFECT in the second photo, JC, but I see a couple of other issues..

Although not a requirement for Basic approval, the kidney/ab plate gap will need to be 1/2 an inch or less for Level 2 and have no gap for Level 3.

Your posterior plate is riding over the kidney in the back.  Some strapping adjustments should take care of that!

Note that for Basic approval and above the cod must be attached to the bottom of the ab plate, and not a separate piece.
