Mortar / Artillery Stormtrooper - Mandalorian (Research)

Recommended Posts

Not as yet.

We really need a member to want to build this costume so we can create the CRL with them.

As it stands the base is looking like the R1 TK with a paint scheme, a degree of weathering and of course the back pack and weapon.

the down side is we don't have the info on one side of the pack only some assumptions of how it may look. This can indeed be a set back with the LMO's unless we have a Black series or Hot Toys reference to get us in.

Man I wish I had a RO kit so I could jump on this, considering my obsession with thermal detonators. Iā€™m still waiting on Justin to convert his Jimmi to one of these variants.

Justin has thought about it, but Justin is burnt out. And would need access to a 3D printer.

So is this dead in the water or is someone working on one?Ā

I know of at least one member who has been updating his build after receiving some feedback and he's pretty close. Unfortunately a CRL can't be created unless we have a finished costume, images of all parts and of course the CRL text.

Not dead, we have a member who has built one.

I spoke briefly with them recently and am waiting for photos to be able to create the CRL.

Wiki Document is created for this CRL, next we need to get the descriptive text down.

It is based off the Rogue One CRL so each section doesn't need a full rewrite just modification so we have the colours, shape of markings and weathering to work through.

I also have some of the images from Honey Mustard and have started cutting them from the backgrounds. This is time consuming so if anyone is happy to do a draft of the descriptive wording for this, that will be of great assistance and we can get this CRL to the LMO team in a shorter time frame.

Artillery Trooper CRL First Draft

Ā

The Rogue One CRL was used as the base considering it is the same armour, so level 2 and 3 also easily apply.

Ā

Helmet

  • Traps (trapezoids on dome of helmet) and tears (area beneath the corners of eye lenses) are gray.
  • Rear traps and tears have engraved vertical black lines.
  • Lenses can be flat material, green in color, sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes.
  • The ā€œearā€ bars are gray or painted gray, with the largest bar oval cutout painted black.
  • Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. The space between the 8 teeth is hollow and backed with Black or Dark grey wire screen mesh.
  • Tube stripes are medium blue, numbering 12 per side. The stipes are straight, not curved like ANH.
  • Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) is painted black.
  • Aerators/Hovi mix tips (cylinders on either side of the vocoder) have a black exterior and silver in color screen mesh.
  • Tears and traps may not be hand-painted.
  • Tube stripes are recessed, and the recessed section painted blue or backed by blue mesh.
  • Special unit details in yellow shall be present. The yellow detail will start from the back of the dome, continue over the head, down the face plate and ends underneath the chin area at the neck seal.
  • Helmet and details/paint should be lightly scuffed,(battle worn), but not weathered like a Sandtrooper (TD)
