Nice work, just watch the rotation of your thighs and shins, not quite aligned, you may want to add some foam behind your sniper plate to help hold it away from your thigh.

You could also possibly bring up your ab a little, would give you more room at the top of the thighs, at present it appears your left thigh is touching.

20200712_144925.jpg

Thigh touching on the rear also. Helmet appears to sit up a lot, you may want to adjust the padding.

20200712_144940.jpg

Some dabs of E6000 glue would help keep your drop boxes in alignment

You may want to also add some photos of the inside of your thigh ammo strip connectors ;)

Good luck

Hi, Tom! Thanks for your submission. Can you also add photos of:

* Inside of the thigh ammo connector

* Outside of the snaps on the butt and the rivet on the cod

* Closeup of the 'Han snap' - the snap on the right ab.

No need to suit up, just need photos of the armor. Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your application and the additional photos. This is clearly a well-loved set of armor!

CRL and EIB Application Requirements

All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Expert Infantry rank. On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! :duim:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly

In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions

Starting from the top with your bucket, this is a bit of a controversial topic, but on average, Stunt TKs had their brows slightly higher than yours, which is closer to the Hero TK. This is definitely a matter of personal preference, but if you'd like to be more screen accurate, you could consider moving it higher.

Next, your brow trim is on the longer side; generally it ends around the ends of the traps, so you should consider trimming it. Another easy fix.

The last issue with your bucket is that, as was mentioned before, your bucket is sitting pretty high so you can see your head pretty clearly under it. Every trooper is different so it might just need to sit there in order for you to have visibility, but we're suggesting that you see if maybe you can take out some of the padding so that it sits a bit lower on your head. Additionally, you could consider wearing a balaclava to help preserve some of that movie magic.

Moving along, it looks like the bottom of the butt plate is not as curved as it could be. Ideally it'd be less straight and sit more between your legs. You should be able to add a bit of a curve with a hot water bath or if you're extremely careful, a heat gun. If you've never used a heat gun on your armor, definitely go with the hot water bath.

Next, your side rivet paint could use a touch up. In the 501st we tend to err more on the side of the 'fresh off the Death Star' look, so you might consider repainting them.

Next, a very small detail. From what we've seen on the screen-used suits, the rivet holding the thigh ammo pack was positioned a little closer in. Not a big deal at all, and it would be a fair amount of work to fix, but worth mentioning.

And in the same vein of the rivet paint, you should consider cleaning off the water/mud droplets on your shin pieces. Again, dirty armor is probably pretty screen-accurate, but we tend to like our TKs to look a bit more sleek and clean.

Finally, some dressing issues in your lower limbs. As already mentioned, it really improves the look to have your cover strips aligned. A very small detail but one that can really make a difference. Aligning your thigh and shin pieces might also help your sniper knee from getting caught under the thigh piece. You could also correct that by adding a bit of foam to the front of your left shin to keep the left sniper knee away from your leg. Finally, when you're getting dressed, just have a handler take a quick look at your shin closure alignment. It's small details like these that really elevate your look.

Centurion Requirements

In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here.

Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper.

The L3 CRL states:

There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates.

Yours actually look quite good, but it does look like there's room to shorten the straps holding the shoulder bells on. They also seem like they might just be sitting a little bit high, so I'd examine the strapping around that as well.

Moving down, the L3 CRL states:

The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels.

Yours needs to come up just a bit to touch the ab buttons. Take a look at the reference images and you'll see that even a slight overlap with the ab buttons is ok. On my own kit I added two small strips of velcro to the inside of my belt to keep it from sagging.

Continuing with the belt, the L3 CRL states:

Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box.

It looks like your drop boxes need to come out just a bit. If you have issues keeping them in place, you can add a drop of glue to the elastic holding them on.

Reference Image:

ACtC-3e8Nj4I2X_VQH1sRc4fCVDtOg5wiCsfKXwc

Finally, the L3 CRL states:

Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top

This is likely just a dressing issue, but your ab and kidney plates are misaligned on both sides. You can also consider adding or adjusting strapping to keep them better aligned.

ACtC-3elOXj2rVfQgU2scev7HM5WwX-kKwZmH-Jd  ACtC-3fKHBetmVQ-fKTeIEv9GATBTLp_FBQI5vau

And that's it! Just a few changes for Centurion, so we hope to see your application there soon. In the meantime, please accept our congratulations for reaching EIB!

That "weathering" was some leftover from troop #3. didnt notice that before the meetup where i took the pics. had no cleaning supplies at hand there. Mud drops are removed now though (removed em when i took the 3 detail pics you requested at tuesday)
