Welcome to the world of trooping. Not to worry you'll get used to it. :D

Honestly, try and avoid sharp sudden turns, instead make a turn in an arc like a car. That way there will be less surprises as you've seen where you are walking. Unfortunately you will bump into the little kids that cut in front of you as there simply isn't a way to see them.

If your lucky you can look down through the holes in the teeth and see whats near your feet. But experience is the best remedy.

Your going to have to get used to it. I have been trooping for a while now and I still bump into stuff all the time. I look through my frown cut out sometimes and it helps a little.

ok here is what my buddy did he went to wal mart bought some limo tint and tinted his darker, you can see good unlike the welders mask which is made for extreme light so you cant see good at all with a welders mask, another option is a motorcycle visor they also work great

The E-11 is nice because its small and you can tuck it in good. You gotta really be carefull with a DLT-19. You can clobber somebody with one of those.

Worried about falling off Spinnaker tower eh dude? ;)

Don't worry mate, not only will you develop a better sense of spacial awarenes you will have extra sets of eyes looking out for you to ensure you do not trip or walk into kids/walls.

Thats why the UKG insist on spotters . ;)

You wil be fine. :D

As long as you remember to bring the cheddar. :sith:

Shame I can't make it to the Spinnaker troop.... just down the road from me too....

Anyway, back to topic...

When I first had my TK gear, I used a shade 5 lens.... great for outdoors, but useless for indoors... way too dark...

Swapped to a shade 3, much, much better... but had to darken out the interior just to be on the safe side..

Never had a problem since..

I have Nath's (Runrriott) grade 3 and they're awesome .. can see real good.

Actually, because I'm 6'3" and have a long neck, I'm one of those lucky guy show can have a pretty big field of view with the helmet on.

I met a Vermont trooper at my last event here in Montreal .. and he said: "You know, you're the first guy I ever met that can turn his head all the way left and right and up and down .. that had us have a laugh!!!"

:D
