RS Red Label Thoughts

I was wondering if anyone had insights on the quality of the Red Label Items on the RS Website. They say it keeps the same quality while offering better comfort and less cost. Im not sure if its worth the cheaper rout if it means less quality on the armor over all. The main thing im talking about is the Red Label on the Helmet for the snow scout trooper on their website. Thanks for the help. I am also extremely new and want get into the 501st in California, im considering getting a full commission helmet to start with so i have a template so i know how to start a kit in the future. But TM has a sale on 25% of their kits and its way cheaper to do it myself but i have no experience i may just contact the garrison in my area to get help making my armor. Ive done many research and its between the RS armor kit or commission or TM. Thanks again.

The red label scout helmet has a lined fiberglass dome so quite a bit heavier than ABS. It’s up to you ultimately but I know I would rather pay the extra £150 and not have a sore neck.

As for kits can’t go wrong with either TM or RS. RS is the most accurate to the films as they cast off an original suit, TM is a cleaned up version but still very accurate (I am amazed at how close Paul got without access to the LFL archives).

yah thanks for your response i just want the satisfaction and saved money on building my own but i do feel i need to start with a finished product to see how it needs to look. but your telling me that its just heavier but will hold up the same with quality detail and damage trooping. i feel like im cheating if i get a commission lol.

My first suit was an RS commission.  But the study I was able to do with it helped me to feel confident to build 3 clones and a scout myself. And now I’m working on an FOTK.  A commission isn’t cheating if it helps you to build confidence to try things on your own in the future :)
