Not sure on the gap, just need the sniper knee to be in front of thigh armor.

I got told have a good gap between them. How big does the gap have to be for basic approval?

Nothing specific in the CRL, I’d consider a few centurion examples and cut small increments until you are happy. Check occasionally with your GML.

"Aiming it to have a 1-2 cm gap between the thigh and sniper knee like I’ve seen in photos"

Do you mean a gap between the top of the sniper knee and the bottom of the thigh?  For taller troopers having that gap may be a necessity, but it is definitely not a requirement at any level.  There are a few troopers in ANH that have that gap, but on the vast majority the sniper knee rides OVER the bottom of the thigh.

So this is good? Put some sponge/foam to make the sniper knee poke out more

Thank you! Just got to work on my back strapping to make it more aligned an tight. Along with resizing my biceps and I should be good for pre approval before next sending the pictures off for my approval as well as work on keeping that back S-trim on stay there in my photos (has never fallen out)

Did restrapping for back and front today to make the gaps smaller and sit better for all pieces. Waiting on new glue to change butt plate strap locations to stop sag and gap.

If you haven't added the snaps to hold the belt in place yet, I would suggest raising it a bit in the front, which will give it a more horizontal look from the side(s).  The top of the ABS belt should sit just at (or a little above) the lower button.

One thing I noticed is that your chest plate is developing a crack on the return edge.  I would jump on this right away by shimming it with a scrap of ABS in the rear, as it will only get worse and will eventually extend into the plate itself.  This thread may help with more info.

Thank you for pointing that out after looking at my chest price there was a ton of stress cracks starting so I have trimmed off the return edges. I was wondering does this include the bottom return edge?

NICE job on trimming those return edges, sir!  I hate to be a stickler (can't help it, lol) but you may want to take some sandpaper to the top portion (blue line).  There is also one tiny indentation (red arrow) toward the upper part where this is especially important.  Even a tiny nick like this can lead to a split, but it's easily fixed.  Looking forward to seeing your pre-submission photos!

  • 2 weeks later...

Think this will be an issue if not fixed. I’m a large trooper so my kidney plate has bended to my waist and left my butt plate smaller then it letting it clip into it.

Can be seen in these two photos:

Here we go got my feedback from my approval photos.
Main Issues are my shins are to loose/big at my ankles, S-trim has to be one piece, my ear gaps are to big on helmet( can see through one of them), my butt plate was to loose not snug enough, my kidney plate was flaring out and the gap between my ab and kidney is to big.

I’m going to be getting help with my ears and tapering the shins from a SCG member Buckets.
I have ordered a new S-trim from my kits manufacturer.
And I have reworked the strapping and made shims to my armour which you can see in the following pictures still working on the shim strapping was to loose.

With the S trim just make sure you cut it longer, you can push it while attaching it and it will compress and hold itself in place nicely.

Good luck with the modifications, almost there

You are killing it with this build Nadas, keep up the outstanding work brother, so close to the finish line now and plenty for you to be proud of.
Great work.
