Rat[TK]
So I picked this up from my GMO who got it from our GXO and its lived out its life in a box. Well Not any more I picked it up this past week and got to the trimming today. The only thing is it is missing the thigh ammo pack, which Walt is now aware of and I believe working on getting it sent out. I picked up my snaps, elastic and hardware from (Justhoseph). I won't be doing the bracket system this time though, all snap plates so that I can break it down a bit smaller and with a smaller bin. Okay time to begin. BBB of rough trimmed red plastic. Yeah I know it looks pink. Supplies I picked up E-6000, Line-24 snaps, 1" and 2" elastic and Justjoseph hardware set. I also have some nylon strapping from a old backpack I'll be using for the chest the rest will be elastic. Started trimming and I'll be doing this different as well with minimal return edge, roughly 3-5 mms. Wondering if I didn't get this a bit too close? Also have a pair of Caboots to pickup from my very generous GXO. Still need to get started on the bucket trimming. I did rough trim the eyes and teeth though.
Rat[TK]
Started on the bucket and since my TK was Anovos this will be a first time bucket build. I got as far as the eyes and teeth so far so good. I know they'll need more attention, but I'm gonna have questions about the face plate and cap and back. Also being red the lines don't show well. But this is where that is.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
Rat[TK]
So I think the bucket is about ready for assembly. But I'm not sure exactly what is going on with the right side. Everything else seems good and the eyes and teeth seem good. I also took a stab at the ears. I didn't ruin them and they need the fine trimming, but they seem to be good.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
Rat[TK]
So I've put the bucket on hold for now. I've been laying out my parts and getting them ready to trim for the cover strips. I've realized that Walt's kit compared to my Anovos TK is a bit snugged. This is sort of good and bad all at once as I'll have less trimming and shaping especially in the forearms and thighs. Shins seem about the same and I've hardly trimmed anything from the main body minus the return edge. This is naturally making me think more before cutting. I'm also unsure of shimming or if I want to squeeze myself in.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
Rat[TK]
Big update here. I ended up actually moving forward with the bucket and now I just need to mount the lenses and electronics. Then I got started by adding my rivets and snaps. So did my an buttons with .ca and got some frosting but it isn't too bad and I should be able to clean it up. Also need to do paint matching as I needed a replacement thigh ammo pack and the color was more orange than red. The color match isn't bad. The belt is a bit orange, the TD is the base color of the rest of the kit and the square is the match paint. Well that is about that for now.
