Please excuse me if this has been asked before, but are there templates available for the foam leaf and straps inside the helmet? Looking  to fit some into mine.

thanks

Sorry could you be a little more clear for me on what your asking?

would you be talking about a strap like on a bicycle helmet or something? if so, generally its just a strap of elastic with some type of cup on it, to hold your chin. But if you get a good amount of padding in the helmet, you shouldn't need a strap, unless your head is really small. Do you have a build thread currently?

for padding some people use the bicycle helmet padding, some use tactical helmet padding, some use any foam padding they can find lying around. If im not on the right track, maybe post some pics to show what your talking about, that would help a lot!

Your best bet would be to purchase the foam at a craft store and go the trial and error route using the photo Daniel supplied as a guideline.  BUT, I would use foam no thicker than 2 cm.  The reason being is that if it's too thick it can cause your bucket to ride too high making it (even more) difficult to see, and also give a "bobble head" effect.  I removed the foam from mine because of this, and now only have it on the sides.

Hi Lee,

As per the picture provided by@theSwede, the chin strap is just elastic. Depending on how you fit the foam at the top, you might not need a strap.

Regarding the foam, unless you’re going for a replica build, just roughly cut the shape. You can then adjust it in the helmet to the nicest fit for you. :-)

Personally, I didn’t get on with the foam star so used tactical pads instead. Fits like a dream and no strap required. Personal preference, however.

Best wishes

Dan

I use the leaf design in mine but absolutely hated the chin strap kept digging in to my throat when moving around so I ended up removing it and added some foam blocks either side of my head just in front of the ears, works great and stops the helmet from bobbling around, also cuts down the fan noise ;)
