Bud Spaklur[TK] Report post Posted November 24, 2018 Troop 3: 11/3/18: Superhero Fan Fest, Toms River, NJ I’m on the right: Funny Story about this one...Halloween morning, I was in my town’s bagel place. Long story short, I met a woman who was dressed as Storm for Halloween. She happened to be a teacher at a school one town over from where I teach. So, at this event, a woman asked to get her pic taken with us. I was standing next to her and thought, “I know her from somewhere.” Then I realized it was the woman I met a few days prior. So, naturally, like the creep that I am, I leaned in, full iComm and all, and said, “You were Storm for Halloween this year.” She had a look of shock and confusion. I revealed who I was and we had a good laugh. Not two hours later, I saw one of my students from a few years ago. I leaned in as he was walking by and said, “Hello, Kevin.” I wish I had video footage of the look on his face. He was freaked out. His dad came over and asked if everything was all right. I told him it was me and couldn’t stop laughing. The father was laughing and complimented my armor. I gotta be careful...one of these days someone is going to punch me. Bud Spaklur[TK] Report post Posted December 8, 2018 Troop 4: 12/8/18: Toys 4 Tots @ Applebee’s, Piscataway, NJ: What a turnout for this one. 21 of the Northeastern Remnant Garrison descended upon the Toys 4 Tots Breakfast with Santa event. I think people got more of a kick out of us than Santa. I am the TK pointing on the right of the photo. That seems to be my “go-to” pose apparently. Because, well, pointing is so menacing and all..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bud Spaklur[TK] Report post Posted January 5 Troop 5: 1/4/19: Empire Strikes Back with the New Jersey Symphony. Was a brief, 1-hour troop. People lined up to get their pics taken with all of us. Not my favorite troop, not sure I’d do this again. Maybe next time I’ll just go as an audience member. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Something similar happened to me as well at a "Weird" Al Yankovic concert we trooped a few years ago. 10 minutes on stage with him at 8:00. Waited backstage (in armor) for an hour while he got changed. Stood (still) behind him for 1 1/2 hours while he signed autographs. Finally got out at 11:00. It was a unique experience, but next time I'll be in the audience.

Next time, you should have him stand still behind YOU while YOU sign autographs! At least they should’ve had you guys like escort each fan from the line to have him sign. Like one trooper manning the line for crowd control, and another couple troopers escort the next fan up to him, then away once done....meh.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
