Thanks

Here is a better lit photo of the posterior of the shins, I've marked where I think I'll need to do mobility cuts but that will be later once I get a feel for how everything goes together haven't yet done anything with the bottom of calves as they seem to fit ok against the boots.

Posterior of thighs still to be cut properly, there is currently an overlap at the knee which I have to bring in, but need the full width at top of thighs. Vertical tape is where i think cover strip will go, also marked where I may do mobility cut too.

Any tips always welcome.f28e9858849b6cd64a95410de2c9f034.jpg&key=d6fe9658857226d5974022a85220506e7d891b29dd2886eed5163e69531462d5a041772b300f8f2ea898ff02e536bd5d.jpg&key=da3cb17f72b63b56bfde9c3208a8e4a575f1f1d6e3d3ce1a74bf8f46264bb3479e131af44a7b44bcb9a4010cdb06da3f.jpg&key=b56404d79a93b8504d825820c56790f3e68d4e1bc10a4051e05d42ad56d87ea0

Been over thinking the thighs as they seem pretty tight at the top and mid thigh. So I opened up the overlap at the knee, now they seem a better fit at the top but the knee opening is 6 - 6.5" wide, would this look ridiculous as my knees are approx 4.5" in diameter?

If I try to narrow it at the knee the top will have to open up more as the mid thigh gets pretty tight. Suggestions? Bring in at knee (as shown in previous post) & Shim? Or ok as per these photos?

Have 20mm cover strips ready but could go wide if have too

Thanks in advance

Images with you wearing would probably help. Perhaps tape when they are comfortable and look from there.

Lots of references of mobility cuts here

Photos attached,

Note Cod and posterior just for reference, held by hand as not finished.

Last photo has the opening at knee bought in. Opening the top by about an inch.

I have seen wide at the knee thighs approved by some GML's before but personally the last photo looks better with them brought in a little, gives you more comfort at the top of the thighs.

Thanks, it does look better, will just get shimming or crash diet.

Is a slightly wider cover strip ie 25mm acceptable for centurion?

Gone with a 25mm cover strip, about 15-20mm opening at the top narrowed the knee opening by about 20-30mm. Cover strip has about 2mm of contact each side at very top

Gluing one side first on each thigh before joining, will fill gap with some epoxy and do larger reinforcing strip on inside.6b00ece8de66ecb65155bb4c4e392eb4.jpg

48hrs later

Do I need to fill small gaps at joins near knee?

Anyone else with AP have this issue (3rd photo) at back of left thigh near knees? One ridge is double the height. Heat gun?3ff082d814bd23d539ff4dfee44087bf.jpgfcb23056eaa7f013b0c6e1f2534e9a90.jpga31cfcd0358541041580bdac90656d75.jpg

Had this with my ATA thighs, a little heat would help. I used a small piece of wood either side to make sure I didn't loose any shape of the ridge

You don't have to fill the joins however it is screen accurate to do so ;)

The main reason some kits have them like AP for example was so they gave a little more room for larger troopers. If you dont need that bit then yes, cut it off for centurion for accuracy.

Yes Actually my shoulder straps have a extra small tab and a big one for larger trooper.

Been a fairly productive few days

- Thighs finished, ammo pack riveted in place, rivets painted

- Calves finished

- Garter belt for thigh all set up and attached to thighs

- Cod strap riveted in place and 2 fasteners attached on posterior

- Shoulder bridge straps modified and shoulder bell straps shortened to attach closer to bridge strap

I'll attach some photos if they ever download to this computer as I have exausted my months photo uploads on taptalk.

Have you thought about using an online image host, many are free, some of us use Imgur, once uploaded you can just copy and paste the "direct link" into your posts, could be an option

Planning to finish torso and back this week however had a few questions when I had a test fitting.

- Cod feels bit high, is there a way to lower it? Was thinking of reducing overlap at chest/cod join and potentially using webbing instead of elastic at this join?

- I can narrow gap about an inch between front of thighs and cod as garter system wasn't fully adjusted

- Does the back look ok? or is posterior too high?

- Big shoulders and lats are an issue as there is a big gap there have already fabricated smaller strap for attachment at top of shoulder but will probably also change strapping at bicep, which may help? other suggestions

- is there too much of gap between helmet and top of chest? long neck or too much padding in helmet?

Please be critical as prefer to fix things now before having to do them at a later stage for centurion.

Cheers
