Mworm1974 Requesting Pre Approval Review (RS ANH)

Hi All,

Thanks in advance for taking the time to view my kit, It is my very first attempt and I did learn lots throughout the build. I couldn’t get the photos to insert as a larger size so I hope that they will do however they are public on my Flickr account. During my build I  followed all the centurion builds especially the ones that have RS kits and are about my size. Any help to get to centurion will be awesome.

Beautiful job on your build Matthew, I can't see anything that would prevent you from achieving 501st basic.

When submitting your photos to your GML provide the following.. Arms down: Front, Back, Left, Right, Front with helmet off.

That's it and good luck, see you on the other side.

Does your sniper knee catch on the bottom of your thigh when walking? They look pretty close together, a piece of foam on the back of your thigh may give more clearance if desired.

Overall, great job on your build. :jc_doublethumbup:

PS: You could probably drop your forearms down a little bit to even out the black gaps on your wrists.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far, I did have to pad out the thigh but I made sure I can move without the sniper knee catching. When building the armour I made sure at each stage that I could walk up and down stairs and I can sit without the torso section on leaving the legs in place.

I did  have one question about the gaps between the hand/forearm/bicep, I widened the gap at the bicep/forearm after watching the live approval because I have long arms. So like Brien said will that gap need to be adjusted for EIB/Centurion.

Thanks again for your time and feedback.

Outstanding job on that build, Matthew!  Basic approval looks as if it is in the bag, sir, and great to hear that you will be aiming for EI and Centurion!

Being able to be mobile is a really good pressure test.  Ideally you can jog and move about and not have any mishap.  It's not uncommon for people to build their TK and walk a few steps around the house, then get to a troop or parade and find that their mobility is restricted in the real world.

For the arms, you can let the biceps down more.  People some to like trying to tuck them up under the shoulder bells for some reason, but if you look at ANH on most troopers they don't really overlap. The strap from bell to bicep is really more to keep them from rotating than holding them up, and on one of my older suits I just used foam padding and not a strap at all.

Once you get approved, don't forget to apply for Legion Access here at the FISD, Matt (easy to do)!  https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/

Once your L.A. approval comes through, with the great job you did on that build I hope you will be applying for EI next, (and then Centurion).   This info. may help:

Thanks Joseph, that was the plan I completed by build by following the centurion applications, however, I received some feedback from the SCG GML and I am a bit confused about the 2 comments but really confused by the second.

The first was with the screws under the chest piece front and rear. Obviously they are the RS original bracket system, so to try and fix them I have taken them all out and counter sunk the holes more and re-painted all of the screws gloss white. I think it looks better now that they are sitting more shallow so hopefully that will be all good now.

The second comment is what has confused me totally, I have been told that my belt needs to cover the rear butt/kidney gap. I have looked at the ANH CRL, screen shots and the last 20 or so centurion applications. I’ve noticed that the gap between the bottom of the belt and the top of the butt/kidney gap varies from 5mm to 30mm depending of the individual build but it never covers the gap hence my confusion.

I have ave been in touch with the SCG GML team to get the belt comment clarified before I make any adjustments.

however, if I drop the rear of the belt to cover the butt/kidney gap the front of the belt sits 25mm below the ab buttons but I can get it to be within 5 to 10mm of the butt/kidney gap without compromising on the front section.

If anyone has any suggestions about the belt I would be appreciative of your help.

thanks

The part about the belt covering the gap actually bewilders me.  I searched through hundreds of screen caps from the Gallery, and out of all those I found only 2 that had that gap covered.  The butt/kidney connection on your armor is among the best I have seen.  I will let Tony or Andrew comment on this.

Must be some mistake or every TK in the Legion is in trouble...interesting to hear the clarification when it comes.

I too Searched just about every thread, looked at the CRL mor3 than once and I combed every centurion application and couldn’t find anything to help.

i have made an adjustment to my kit that has lowered the belt so fingers crossed it’s all good.

There is no CRL requirement, or EI/Centurion requirement, that the belt has to overlap the butt/kidney split that I could find.  There is also no statement that you can't have the screws visible under the bottom of the chest plate.  Next time you have such pushback from your GML, you can simply direct him to the GML/DL area on the 501st boards.

Hi all,

Thanks to everyone for the comments and support but I have awesome news, I am now also known as TK11874.

Im still not sure we’re the belt issue came from but it’s all good now after a few emails and a small adjustment.

I will be working on my EIB submission then hopefully Centurion as this was my goal from the start.

thanks again
