Recommendations: Source for FO TK Group Build

Hello all,

I am wondering who would be the best maker to contact about a bulk order of FO TK armor. Garrison Titan in Washington has started gauging interest and collecting information to do a large group build of FO TKs. Most of us are planning to do the TLJ version, a few may be doing TFA. We will be formalizing a list of how many troopers want in on the order and who wants what versions of armor soon.

Our requirements are basically that the armor be approvable and not fiberglass. A few of our members have fiberglass FO TK armor and it is prohibitively expensive and heavy. ABS/HIPS/plastic is much preferred. Anovos is not an option, due to expense and lack of delivery (a few members have not yet received their FO TK armor from Anovos that they ordered over a year ago)

We would greatly appreciate your recommendations as we try to beef up the First Order TK presence in our Garrison!

Thanks a lot,

Aidan Blake

Following up on this, it looks like the only differences between the TFA and TLJ versions are the helmet and Thermal Detonator. Because this is a bulk order, I'm hoping that the supplier can plan for a large order of just the armor, excluding the helmet but with a mix of TFA and TLJ Thermal Detonators, in case some of our members want one or the other. The helmet we are likely going to have members purchase on their own, so they get the version/manufacture that they prefer.

Update: It looks like we're going to be contacting KB Props for this, however we're just going to be getting the TFA armor kits from him if possible

We'll still be looking to source TLJ thermal detonators and helmets for both TFA and TLJ

You guys could certainly try to do a group run.  There are a few differences if you look at the TFA & TLJ.  Some are mandatory at L1, some at L3.  Most notably is the helmet and thermal detonator, but the cod is also different at the L3 area.  Do not the construction details are different in certain parts, so if you want to go L2/L3 there are some small differences on the limbs.

If you are intent on doing a group buy (and presumably reaping some cost savings) and fiberglass isn't an option, then KB Props is pretty much it. They also do TLJ-style resin helmets. As for the TLJ-specific thermal dets, it's very easy to modify at TFA det into a TLJ det.

As for TFA helmets, assuming someone has enough of them in stock I'd probably jump on Amazon Prime and bulk order a bunch of Anovos standard helmets. Decent price/accuracy, and they are fully finished - might as well save yourself some work.

Not to get off topic but after looking at the TFA and TLJ TDs the only difference I see is the TLJ left cap is all black instead of white with black gaffers tape as seen on the TFA version.  The simple fix at least with the Anovos armor is to paint it black or cover it with a black cap. Long story short whoever the armor is purchased from make sure the TD is correctly made TFA or TLJ.
