Bradley's ANH Stunt Build [Anovos]

Recommended Posts

Update 3/9/19

Yes, it has been 13 months since I last worked on my TK armor. But! My goal is to have the armor finished and approved as Centurion in time to troop on May 4th of this year. Today, Jon (TK12569) came back to my house and we made huge progress knocking out return edges on the entire kit and we even got the fitting and gluing started on the arms. Cannot express how grateful I am for Jon's time, enthusiasm, patience, etc.

Attache Jaltrooper is on duty!!!

We'll have this guy Centurion before you can say "May the 4th be with you!!"

Hahaha!

For the record...Bradley is a GREAT addition to the Legion and our Garrison! The guy can out troop most of our veterans!

Today I started work on my shins. This was a huge step for me as I'll admit to having very little confidence in myself when it comes to doing this kind of stuff. Jon was really gracious and endured my texting him questions and in-progress pictures throughout the day.

We started the day trying to figure out which of the four shin pieces belonged together.

Next, I had to find the return edges on each piece and mark off 10mm on each side so that the 20mm strip lands more-or-less directly on the return edges of both.

Trimming these lines was definitely not easy. The right leg basically lacked any defined return edge and so I had to freehand it. In any case, the pieces miraculously lined up fairly nicely despite the asymmetry of the armor and skillset of the armorer...

Both legs now have an inner strip at the front...

...and now we wait.

Forearms are basically done, except for the outer strips. I'm going to wait to see how everything lines up before setting the strips down, so that I can get the straightest line possible.

Meanwhile, I've started painting the ab buttons. I'm sure it'll take me two hours of research to figure out where I need to trim this for Centurion...

Checking out my helmet, making sure it is Centurion -ready.

S -trim is good...

Flathead style screws are good...

I might be mistaken but that looks like a pan head, Anovos usually has that on the bottom screw so I would double-check, if indeed a pan head it work great for the TD:duim:

You're right, I'm pretty sure those are indeed panheads. I wish I had known this before I went out and put panheads on my TD. Haha! But this is exactly why I've got the build thread.

I guess I'm headed to the hardware store for #6 slotted flatheads, today.

Correct screws are in place and drying. Thanks again, @TheSwede, for your help on that!

I think all that I have left to do on this helmet to be Centurion -ready is paint the hovi tips white.

THT:salute:

And if I can make a few suggestions to go along with that you could consider open up the eyes a bit and extend the paint on the frown for some added ANH-magic:) EDIT: perhaps also open up the teeth some more and the lines are just a rough guide and even though they go all the way I did not mean for the paint to go all the way - just on the teeth:smiley-sw013:

You'll be amazed how much more you can see just taking out those inner sections of the eyes. Definatley could do with a bit more paint on those teeth ;)
