Hollowing now done, had to file out the a little on the smaller end by hand just to get the small lense a snug fit.You can just about see the target reticle in the photo I think, pretty hard to get a picture of it! Looks much better in the flesh, honest! LolThe big lens is sitting a tiny bit off centre at the moment, but I'm hoping to put something down the side to centre it better, then I can fill in any spaces with green stuff and it should all meet up nicely.Just trying to work out the painting plan though: think I'll start just by spraying some paint down the inside of the scope to black it out. Regarding your painting plan: yes, you should do the inside of the scope first, then attach the lenses, mask them and give it the outer spray coat. Great idea RE using the brush, yet another thing I hadn't though of! I'm wondering if anyone has some nice shots of their power cylinders? From a few different angles if possible? To give you enough room for the cable/wire at the back, perhaps a mil or two poking through. If your greenstuff is still ‘wet’, you could possibly go a little smaller/flatter on those bits, if you wanted. Cut the original clip itself out of the holder, and after a lot of sanding, got it down to the right size to fit in Tino's aluminium holder. Nearly drilled the holes too wonky, as usual lol but got the nail through in the end haha. Also installed a bit of spring left over from the trigger into the back of the clip. The circular groove is a little wide at the moment but will sort that out with some green stuff once glued into place.How is it looking? Ready for glue? I assume I've got it the right way up! HahaAlso a little work on the front sight: by the time I'd separated it out of the one piece block you get with Doopies, I had to build it back up again with green stuff. I think I've more or less covered the same dimensions as the Doopies was, though I've taken the sides down lower to place the little grub (which goes on the right... right?). Not sure if that small grub screw in the front sight is always on the right side, as I understood this block to be removable. That being said, I guess you can insert it the other way, too. Nothing major, priming the charging handle, end cap, end cap clip.Almost at a roadblock actually, I've got some aluminium on order for the counter bracket, should be here Monday. And I've got a real sterling folding stock on its way too, god knows when that'll be here though lolOn another note, it's BBB day!
