HOW TO: Remove Bifurcated Split Rivets

Pyrates

Recommended Posts

There was a recent question that asked how to remove split rivets and thought I would share my method, as well as encourage other troopers to post their methods here as well in order to help others that need to tackle this problem.

Tools:

- Diagonal Cutters "Side Cutters"

- Needle Nose pliers or standard pliers depending on the application

I prefer using the Diagonal Cutters / "Side Cutters" as the edges of the cutters catch the tails of the rivet without damaging your armor.

Using the cutters, squeeze the tails together.

Then use pliers to straighten the tails out for removal

Good luck Troopers, and many thanks in advance to those who post their methods here.

MaskedVengeance Caleb, this could a good addition to your All in One   :jc_doublethumbup:

Absolutely. I hadn’t ever seen this post, but this is the exact method I used to redo my cod/posterior rivet. I’ll have to reference this when I get around to finishing my build thread.

I’ll get this added to the reference thread!
