gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted May 1, 2017 Report Share Posted May 1, 2017 (edited) DSS TROOP REPORT EVENT: Guide Dogs WA Street Appeal 26th April 2017 TIME: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm TROOPERS: TK85421 - Q - gmrhodes13, TI59226- Jerry - Jezzapm, SL51164 - Stuart - DV64, TB13310 - Liz - Liz Wrangler: Marie REPORT: Taking to the streets of Perth and joining the Guide Dog ranks and collecting donations for Guide Dogs Street Appeal 2017, these donations will go directly to the Guide Dogs Street Appeal 2017. We arrived at the meet point in town at 10:30 and proceeded to the change area which was in the dungeon under EB games (this is an appropriate name for this area). After all members were ready it was off to collect for the guide dogs. The troop lasted from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, in which time we had a lot of pictures taken with many members of the public and also with the Guide Dogs and their handlers. At one stage a very nice lady after having her picture taken tried to make a donation by putting coins into my chest box as that is were she though is was meant to go, she went a bit red when she was told that the money was meant to go into the guide dog money boxes that the volunteers were carrying. A bit of fun was also had with Q and a band of school kids that were on an outing, this involved some chasing up and down the mall much to the delight of all. After the troop it was back to the dungeon to change and go for lunch along with coffee and donuts and as they say, tttttthat's all folk's CHARITY: The total collected on the day by all the volunteers(not just the members of the 501st) was a very handsome amount of $29,000.
