Is T/MC Armour good quality? And trustworthy?

As a newbie buying armor, I was looking for a good quality, but cheap armor. I found T/MC in the "Various types of armor and where to find them" forum. I am yet to find a solid review on this armor, and still to find a build thread for the T/MC armor. Could someone tell me how good this armor is? And if so, direct me to a build forum? Thank you, and I will keep looking.

My first armor was T/MC before I got AP. It's pretty good. In fact, I still wear the helmet.
