variation basics?

Recommended Posts

I am new to this and looking at the stromtrooper kits and variations and who makes what and what it entails and what is up to code, so much information...... LOL is there a site or somewhere that simply states the differences between each suit? like what makes a sandtrooper suit v stormtrooper, this would make life so much easier.

Have a look a the 501st CRL's (costume reference library) these are the basics of each costume, found here http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRL

For Stormtroopers here http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL

Sandtroopers here http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:MEPD_CRL

As to who makes them have a read through the Getting Started Section http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/

If you look at the top of the main page, you will see a tab that says Costume Requirements, which is a link to the CRLs, (Costume Requirement Libraries) of all the TK related armors.  Here is a quick link:  http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL

Once i pick what suit i am going for i will aim to build to level 3 as i think it will be easier to do it first up than trying to modify a suit already done, thoughts? i will be chasing someone who has the suit with all the mods that have been approved and get some photos so its done right.

Just be careful buying a second hand approved suit, details have changed over the years for basic approval so what may have been approvable once may need changes for current approval specs.

Hey James. Makes sure you sign up and say g'day on our local forums too.

Sorry, confused by your last comment - are you looking at buying new or second hand? Check those links others have provided. There's a couple of sellers who make fully completed kits if that's what you're after. It is fun building it yourself though! Introduce yourself on our forums, and I'm sure they'll be plenty of locals around that you could see suits in the flesh if you want.
