Interchangeable ANH/ESB Armour [AP]

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm back after fixing my ESB trooper up to EIB status, now to getting my ANH trooper approved! All of my tweaks are completed so here some pics.

New Helmet with ANH paint scheme (note this is the helmet I thought I ruined with a heat gun in my initial ESB build :) all fixed up with new ears from AP and a bit of white silicone caulk to cover up gaps)

I cut some leather bracelet kits up for my ANH AP holster. and affixed them with Chicago screws for neat removal when I want to go back to my ESB trooper.

Now here's my favourite part. The cherry on top...

My Hfx DLT-19. I already have a ESB E-11, I had to get begrudgingly for higher approvals in ESB. Like I always say the E-11 is a side arm... Now with My ANH I can show it off as my main armament ;)

When this one is approved I will get it up to EIB and then work toward Centurion on both costumes.

I have been contemplating doing this myself, but the other way around lol.  I have an extra assembled helmet I could just repaint, but I kind of want to feed my impulse addiction and purchase another one for ESB lol.

Do it! And send your extra helmet you won't be needing anymore my way! ;)

Dave, may I ask what you have done to keep your holster so close to the upper leg while your E-11 is holstered? Mine always looks like being close to drop on the floor if I do this.

The Trooper's best friend, of course, Tino... E-6000.   :laugh1:   Industrial strength Velcro might actually work though.

No actually to both lol. It is a heavy resin e-11. Thats probably why it's staying in place. the other thing I did was carefully put my Chicago screws so that only about an inch of leather strap was hanging down. I followed abunch of pictures and a Bill Hag diagram.

I think it also might be the way I'm standing.

Placed it carefully for the photo? Lightweight e11?

Once you get your ANH approved, Dave, you can do double-duty and go HWT... (hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge).   ;)

Nice work Dave!!!

I'll have to agree that it is probably the heavy resin E-11 that keeps the holster sitting properly.  Mine is fairly beastly as E-11s and weight are concerned, and I've never had an issue (on the rare occurrences that I holster it) keeping it sitting nicely like Dave's does in the photos above.

The key is to have the "heavy duty" holster.  When I had the 4 oz Darman holster, my full resin e11 did not stand a chance to sit up straight.

Since upgrading to the thicker leather version, it has never had the same issue :)

Neat! I love being able to go between the two as well. For the E-11, I can't say, as I never holster mine.

I agree Paul, I had an accident when it was holstered at that troop... The Magazine fell off when I bumped a door... Nothing a little CA glue didn't fix but still you need to be wary.

Exactly Tim,  the weight makes it sit nice, but like I said to Paul's comment you really need to be careful of your surroundings

And this one is for you Joe ;) This is just my ANH build progress. I'll start up a HWT after approval here's a bit of progress on that front.

Pauldron is here, I did some adjustments and added another snap to make it fit tighter

For the magazines I cut out pieces of EVA black foam mat looks pretty solid!

How did you adjust the strap on the pauldron? Mine is also overly loose

As to your question Andrew, I am having the same issue I added another snap on the bib snap part to make it tighter just a male snap so the two existing female snaps could fit and it brought in more. the under arm strap I need to figure out still.

20161116_231832_zpsd9v30l5m.jpg

And Looking at this I need to make some more tweaks to the armour. My elastic shoulder strap on the left (my left, your right) needs to be secured with velcro or a snap to the shoulder bridge (same with the other side) I also need to make J hooks for the biceps, they keep sliding down. the forearms also need to be secured better. I am tall so I need to try and work with the suit to minimize black spots.

In other news an action shots with the pauldron on for HWT.
