68Brick[TK] Posted January 30, 2017 Report Share Posted January 30, 2017 Maybe the pipe you are attempting to use is oversized? The caps should be a tight fit, but not same size tight. Regardless, you'll probably have to sand and bevel the ends of your pipe to make the caps slide on easier. I worked it and worked it and got it on, but it compromised its shape quite a bit. I'm going to get some new caps, hopefully and try again. I don't know how it could be off so much. troopermaster Posted January 30, 2017 Report Share Posted January 30, 2017 You need to bevel the ends of the tube to allow the caps to slide on easier. Heating the caps helps a lot. When heating the caps you need to gently blow over them with your heat gun, making sure you heat the outside and inside, then force the tube into the cap on a hard surface. The snaps on the ab plate to hold the belt on are about 3mm too far apart and one or the other keeps popping off. I'll need to address that. Still working on the interior strapping. So far the strapping is complete on the arms and shoulders. I've done some between the kidney plate and butt plate. The strapping I really need to get done is between the chest plate and ab plate. You made the common mistake of attaching the ammo belt to the canvas belt laid out flat. This alters the distance between the snaps when you try to attach the belt to the abdomen because the ABS restricts movement of the canvas. *Tip* Fix the centre rivet of the ammo belt to your canvas belt and fasten the belt around your waist. Mark the end rivet hole on your canvas belt using a pencil, remove the belt, punch the hole in the canvas and rivet the ammo belt. Do the same for the opposite end. When you lay the belt out flay, the ammo section will look like a 'M' having gaps between the rivet fixings. This is totally normal and how the original belts were made. Assemble your belts like this (everyone) and the days of your belt popping off are long gone **edit** This is assuming you have fixed your snaps to the canvas belt prior to attaching the ammo belt. Everything is riveted and glued. I'll figure it out somehow. I still haven't built up the guts to tackle the bucket any further than I have. I'm still in the Black Series. I'm getting close. This is the first test fit without any masking tape. I built a garter belt for my thighs.
