All trimmed out. Do I need to take anymore off, or is it good to move along?

Yes i was talking to him on a recent troop and it's his own sculpt which he is constantly refining.

Looks Like a AP kit with ATA bits. Probably not his own sculpt but maybe given permission to use the sculpts since he's UK

Do these pencil lines look about right in preparation to paint on the teeth?

Please could someone chime in as I don't want to begin until I know I'm on the right track.

Thanks

Second coat done.

Just need to tidy the black outline and apply lines.

Still work to do on the left of the frown. I just can't get it right!

Then onto the blue tube stripes.

Looks good! Nice and glossy! Are you gonna free hand the lines on the traps?

Am going to give it a go. The only issue being that the meds I'm on are giving me the shakes and I'm rattling like an old washing machine on full spin! So just painting the rest was a frustrating challenge seeing as paintings my strong point. I may opt for the old sharpie if it doesn't work out.

Quick tip for how I did my lines on the traps:

Marking up the lines for trap stripes by Christopher Pearson, on Flickr

There's masking tape for the top and bottom, I measured out with a caliper (because the compound error with a rule will be huge) the correct number of equally spaced end points top and bottom.  Drew the line with a pen, then just hand painted the line over the top.

For the tears I did something similar but I eyeballed the distance.  Marked the ends of the first and last line then sub divided to get the right number:

Hope that's useful.

I think they look just fine :jc_doublethumbup: I like the way you did your lenses. I'm thinking about doing mine the same way. For now I've got the lenses attached to the ear screws.

Thanks Art.

The lenses were pre cut when I recieved my armour, so it was the only real option I had. I didn't want to Velcro or glue them in, so installed some long nuts (can't remember the proper name for them!) into some modelling putty then just screwed them in after piercing the lenses.

On the last leg of the lid build now. Ive installed the mic and padding ( along with a custom cog ) so all that's left to do is trim down the bolts and fit the chin strap. Im quite happy with how its come out and how the interior looks. Just waiting for the wireless transmittter to turn up now.

For those interested, here is a pic of the computer nuts I used to mount the lenses along with how I did it

Along with the modelling clay.

Its a really simple job, but hard to put into words. I will try my best to explain !

1. I removed the face plate as this gave me more room to work, but I guess it can still be done without doing this.

2. I mounted the nuts (with the bolts already screwed into them to avoid any putty getting into the nuts) into a small amount of modelling putty and rolled them into small cylinders.

3. Once dry I removed the screws from the nuts and marked out where the were going to go in the lid, test fit them and then sanded down the bottoms until the lay flush with the eyes.

4. Once dry, then it was time to install. I mounted the sockets by using ca glue and then addad more clay to stick the socket to the lid and improve the look.

5. I then offered up each lense and marked the position of the top outside post. I then punched the hole for the first screw, fitted the lense and then tightened it up when I was happy of its position. Doing this secured the lense whilst I marked the other holes.

6. I then removed the lenses, painted the new mounts white. Once dry I took off the protective film and installed the lenses again.

Looks great! Love the padding but you are scaring me with the ear screws sticking out (in) so far!? You should trim them down. My big fat head would get all scratched up if I put that on. I cut mine down then added a ball of hot glue on the end as an extra measure.
