Are you an introvert in 'real' life?

I must admit, most of the time i'm a fairly quiet guy who dislikes a lot of fuss, doesn't like being in the limelight or centre of attention. I'd also regard myself as pretty confident in talking to people but just don't like getting in folks faces.

That kinda changes when I don the TK armour, though... I love it! Getting photos taken, interacting with families, and their smiles make me smile

Must be the anonimity?

So are you like me, or are you a bit of an extrovert even out of the costume?

I am very much the same. Like you I can get along fine with people but when in armour I do sort of come to life a bit more, talking to and interacting with fellow costumers and members of the public more. Especially when i don my bucket then no body knows me which makes it fun. Although 501st has a strict rule that we must keep our buckets on for an entire event, which I don't like that much because it really does limit how much you can talk and socialise with people. But at the same time This rule make sense and has it's advantages.

But yeah, I love interacting with people while in costume!

Same!! I can get along with anyone, but kinda stick with people I know. But when that bucket goes on, its game on haha

I would rather stay at ho​me feteling, or watching something With my loved once, then be out partying, I do og to the odd party, but only at verry Close friends houses, and I newer bother going out to town. atleast not for the past 13 years

I'm definitely introverted and a big reason I like the TK is because of the anonymity. But even with the bucket on, I'm still quiet and let other troopers do the talking.

Exactly how I feel. I do like trooping so I'm trying to get out more, but I do love staying at home!

I'm an ENFJ. Sometimes I'm an introvert, especially when I'm working on things like my armor. But other times I'm pretty extroverted. I work for a local craft brewery as a brand ambassador. That job involves me pretty much talking to people for a few hours at a time.

 

I will say that I am far more outgoing when no one knows that it's me, like maybe I have a bucket on my head from my TK.

I am 1000% introverted, always quiet and keeping to myself.  I've been really surprised at how that completely changes when I'm armor!  It's got to be the anonymity factor.  All of a sudden I'm outgoing and interactive with kids and the adults.  Does anyone else go hoarse or lose their voice while trooping?  I'm not sure if it's from having to talk louder because I don't have a mic yet (a different topic altogether ) or because I'm used to being so quiet all the time, or maybe it's both lol.

Pretty much the same, wouldn't get me out in a crowd unless in armor, I don't wrangle or wear non helmeted costumes, if I don't have a bucket on I just don't go out.

With my TK, I always think that I represent the 501st, so I become half of what I am lolll

I'm a complete introvert, who much prefers a quiet night in gaming than going out drinking or partying. I do get on well with people and come out of my shell once I get to know them, but on first encounter I'm always shy and rather awkward (which can be a bit frustrating). 
 

I love any kind of full body costuming, as it does give you a degree of anonymity and confidence to do what you normally wouldn't in public. Although not with trooping, I have full body builds from other costuming groups, and have performed in public with them. Always remember being frightened of performing in a busy Glasgow city centre for the first time. Then when suited up, I just went into a trance and played the character, and did things you couldn't pay me to do in public out of costume. I imagine, I'll be the same when trooping sometime in the future.

Being an introvert involved in these kinds of hobbies gets very interesting when you are a spotter. I have a few stories where I nearly died of embarrassment helping costumed folk at events.

I'm a mix I'd say. I am somewhat of an introvert when not around people i don't know, but when I'm in my armor I'm super extrovert, but if i'm around people i know and not in armor, im and extrovert.

I'm a major introvert. I'll take a weekend of video games and Netflix over most things.

 

I'm hoping that someday when I finish my armor I'll be a little different under the helmet.

I fall in to one of those labeled categories people throw around with out understanding what they mean, but yes I am very introverted by nature though there's a whole heap of asterisks after that.

 

In the past I have been unable to talk even to a waiter or similar unless the interaction was initiated by them. Think they asked me what I want, but I couldn't ask them for a refill for example. Essentially a lot of social interactions people have by nature are learned behaviour for me and requires conscious thought to not mess up.

 

Over the years I've taught myself ways to be able to interact more with people, and the internet has been a great enabler for me. The TK armour has taken this to new levels, not only am I meeting more new people I am able to interact with strangers that would have been impossible before. A lot is probably the anonymous nature of the bucket, some might be "I'm an imperial troop in the Galactic Empire" but with each troop I am getting better at being the trooper and not a mannequin.

 

I guess this a long winded way to say I have a lot to thank the 501st, UKG and FISD for.

I'm more of an introvert. My wife does enough talking for everybody 

 

I'm typically the type of guy in the room that is quiet but taking everything in and is paying attention to all the things going on. Maybe that's the military ingrained in me though. I'm usually pretty quiet unless a subject like guns, the state of the country, etc. comes up and then I usually get fired up.

I wouldn't call me a introvert, but one who does not like crowds. I just think it's to long in the Army. Have no clue on how I will be once my armor is done and I get in a garrison. I get along great with those I know, have fun. Hoping it helps, but if not, it's ok. I will work through it

Before I had my first job, I was just a step above mute. Nowadays, I'm much more outgoing, but still not exactly the first one to jump into a crowd of people and become part of the conversation. Even with the helmet on, I tend to step back and let the vets soak up the spotlight. Maybe that will change as I get more troops in.

Well, let's say I am not an introvert.

I love meeting people, love to talk, joke have fun etc, etc.

Used to love clearing a dance floor in my younger days break dancing and jamming like Michael Jackson. I also like impersonating people (not that I think I am very good at this) but give me a few drinks and it can go up another level again. When in TK I have a few different characters . The Larrikin or the very serious soldier.
