So here we go! I plan on fixing my butt wing on my right side of the butt plate. When strapped to me without the belt on it sits perfectly flat and straight, but when i attach the belt and holster the sheer weight of the holster pushes it to the right, thus making it pop out like i have a wing there! haha. I can try heat forming it more but ive been battling this thing since day 1!

Another fix that i will be making is making those half moon cuts behind my thighs, more movement, and also it will get rid of those little cracks where my 2 pieces come together that the cover strip doesnt cover. it tears at my soul looking at that lol!

Great looking armor, Brenden! Cutting the thighs is only really needed for comfort. I was about to cut mine after I had my suit on for the first time and thought they were uncomfortable. My Attaché suggested that if I wasn't in pain, wait a little see how it feels when I actually troop. I've had 12 troops wearing it and don't see a need to trim them.

Others have recommended having the bucket neck trim ends meet under the neck, not in the back. It will never be seen at the neck where the back is always visible when you look down

The only other comment on the pictures I see is that you have one cool looking driveway.

Good Luck!

Great suggestion on the neck trim, didn't think about that!

I actually have very good comfort right now with my thighs and shins not having that half moon cut, I just hate seeing those tiny cracks where the 2 pieces didn't butt up flush.

Also the butt wing! I can't seem to get rid of it even after heat forming. Maybe some more ? I think the shear weight of the holster is pushing it outwards from the other side

Looks good, man! :)

The way I fixed my butt flap (lol) was by moving the strapping to the very edge of the inlet on the kidney(very close to the bottom) and then lining it up on the butt plate. It sits completely flush now. Also... I used the thick/strong elastic straps from anovos. :duim:

I definitely agree with this as one of the best methods. You can also use wider elastic with Two snaps, like 50 mm instead of the narrower stuff on the ends.

Great work by the way.

Thanks guys so I tried the elastic and i guess it still gives enough to pop out over the kidney plate and stick out. Maybe I'll try switching the elastic to nylon, something that won't give

For the tiny cracks still visible between the pieces, try adding a piece of scrap ABS across that joint as a reinforcement. Since it is white and not black, it will blend in with the rest of the armor, making that seam to almost disappear!

EDIT: Put the reinforcing strip on the inside of the pieces!

Hey Brenden, thanks for your application, lets get it underway!!

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required photos have been submitted. Your armor contains all necessary elements to qualify for EIB. With that, we would like to congratulate and welcome you to Expert Infantry!!!

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

In this section we will discuss observations by both your fellow troopers and ourselves that are suggestions to improve the overall final look of your armor. These suggestions will not affect any application. Those that do are listed in the above or below sections.

As you started your application mentioning the fun and games you have had with your Butt Plate, I thought it fitting to start your review with a suggestion we believe will alleviate the problem.

If you move the snap positions out closer to the ends and in closer to the return edges of the bottom of Kidney and top of butt plate, then use wider strapping of approx 50mm wide and a touch shorter, it will prevent the pop out.

Basically it gives a lot less room for movement at the joint.

Again thicker strapping may help you with the gap opening up between the back and kidney plate as well. Try shortening the straps first to see how it goes, and make sure that Thermal Det is on straight and nice n secure.

Your fore arms are just out a little, so raising the lower of the two to be inline or have an even gap, will just get you looking that much sharper.

Hovi tip mesh could be changed out for some a little more screen accurate. This is not a deal breaker and wont effect a Centurion application.

The ear screws can also be updated to a V head type for more screen accuracy as well.

Centurion Suggestions:

Although we attempt to spot and suggest things that make passing Centurion easier, the application requires a more detailed set of pics that can reveal things not always seen here. The final product is ultimately the responsibility of the trooper.

The Back to kidney alignment that is actually stated in the above section is something we would like to see adjusted for your Centurion application.

It is a higher level and I'm sure you will want to have yourself looking as smart as possible in your photo shoot.

A repaint of the Vocoder would also be a good idea. Currently it is loosing alot of the detail and shape and we would like to see it looking more like the screen used style. Please use the Hovi tip images in the above section for a comparrison.

Its really only the small details of balance in fit and gaps, those special little touches that are always worth the effort and something to be proud of.

Straight Thermal dets, shiny armour and troopers standing proud.

Congratulations once again, see you in Centurion review soon. :salute:

Thanks sly and wing nut! These are the tips I need to get to cent! Ty! I thought I fixed my back, but we can clearly see something went wrong haha. I'll have to make sure my squire knows to put my belt and td on straight next time I suit up. Hovi tips will be changed, great tip!

Wow what a difference on the vocoder to the screen used one! Never noticed that!

These are all great tips guys and can't wait to get crackin and submit for centurion. Look for me boys!

Are those two of your bucket??

It should be easy to remove excess paint using a Q-tip and mineral spirits. The goal is to just have the ribs of the vocorder painted. These last two pictures are getting closer.
