E-Ren89
I am currently fitting my clamshell and as you can see in the circled areas the buttplate is way too wide. Two options come to mind I can either heat it or use straps to hold those sides more in. Any suggestions and if heating is a good idea would hair dryer work? The belt goes right above it so that does not help it stay down due to my height and proportion
Darth Voorhees[501st]
heh ive personally had the opposite problem..my BUTT was too wide LOL. But ive built armor for folks many times before, i would just heat it up and bend it inward to eliminate what you have there.
E-Ren89
Would a hairdryer have enough power? I'm a little intimidated by a heat gun and melting the plastic
Rob .T .[TK]
I had the same issue , I managed to bring the sides in ever so slightly using a hair dryer . My wife has quite a powerful dryer , and I held it about an inch away . I moved it slowly around to get the piece very hot in a strip two inches wide , and the full depth of the butt piece . Then by hand I held it slightly past the desired position for a couple of minutes until it had cooled sufficiently . <br> Do it a bit at a time . E-Ren89
Cool I'll give it a go. I don't need it pressed down too drastically just enough so it doesn't stick out
