Kissimmeeguy
This is my very first post ever on this forum so please forgive my lack of education. I want to learn! What is recast armor and why is it not favorable? Before joining this forum I did a lot of research on TK armor and it would seem that anything recast is talked about in a negative manor but as a newbie I have no idea what recasting means. Can someone explain to me what it is and what the alternative is?

Dreamdasher
In short, it's when someone makes a cast of a cast. Basically, if you build your own prop using a guide (screencaps, step-by-step, research, etc), you have a replica. If you then create a mold from that replica and cast parts from it, you have what's called a "cast." If someone takes one of those casts and creates molds of their own from it, and then casts parts from that, those are called "recasts." To sum it up: Replica > Copy > Copy of Copy Some people frown on the practice of recasting entirely, while others only frown on recasters that claim their products are true castings.
