Troopermaster thermal detonator end cap assembly

Recommended Posts

After you have chamfered the edge of the tube, you should gently warm up the end caps with a heat gun or hair dryer. Hold the heat gun several inches away from the end cap and wave it side to side so you don't heat up one spot, while turning the end cap. Two turns usually does the trick. Have the end cap upside down and your tube ready to fit straight away and they pop right in. Make sure to drill a breather hole under where the detonator plate will go so relieve any back pressure.

If they are too extremely tight to put on, there is a good chance they will crack while trooping or while leaving the bin in the car.

I've seen others that have sanded down the end of the pipe a millimeter or so, so that it will slide on easier

I doubt they would crack after fitting if put on correctly. The caps are formed on the same size pipe so it's a guaranteed fit. The only reason they are tight is the plastic shrinks slightly as it cools, so heating them up makes them expand which makes them easier to fit on. We are talking microns with the shrinkage, not millimetres :)

Don't forget to drill a small vent hole in the center of the pipe that can be covered with the control panel. Otherwise you have the neat TD pop gun with the first end clap you put on. KABAAM!
