Strongbow[501st]
I notice that the CRL says that a counter and cylinders are required for higher levels of approval (centurion), though over at partsofstarwars.com, there seems to be a wide variety of configurations that were used in ANH... including a configuration with an M32/19 and no counter or cylinders, as used in ESB. Any reason the CRL is set up like that? I really like the slightly cleaner look of the ESB-style blaster, but want something that works for ANH. Dday[501st]
You are right, there were a lot of different setups for ANH. The CRL is setup to be a general reference, but does not and can not cover every variation possible. I think Gazmosis would be the best guy to contact through PM to see if he would accept the stripped down M19 version, since ultimately he has to make the final decision. It's not really a huge deal.... I have an ANH Hyperfirm blaster otw that will do for approval. But I am converting a Wise Lite carbine sterling to an E-11 and I intend to build the cleaner version. At least I think I do.
Locitus[Admin]
Hyperfirms are fine. Generally we accept more variation than what is written in the CRL, as the CRL would look more like a small book if we included every nuance in text. Also, while partsofsw.com is often correct, it hasn't been updated in like 10 years so keep that in mind.
