TK Echo says:
A overlap on one seam [with glue tab] and a butt joint with a shim glued behind on the other seam. The seam with the shim is to have bondo and sanded flush so it is hidden once painted.

Camprandall says:
The short side of the biceps has a glue surface tab. The bondo'd longer edge just butt joined with a backing strip. I'm putting backing strips anywhere there's a joint I feel might be at all weak, especially if it's under bondo.
