Hey guys,

Just wanted to post a quick review of the TK boots offered by imperialboots.com

(Pics to come later, forgot to snap a few before I left for work. Sorry!)

I got my boots this morning and wasted no time in unboxing them to make sure they fit (I was actually a bit late to work because I wanted to walk around in them for a bit to get a good sense of how comfortable they would be for long troops. I consider myself an expert in this field as I did marching band for 4 years in high school - I can't even begin to describe how important good footwear is, especially when you're carrying 20 pounds of instrument and walking in a particular fashion. I ended up with double ingrown toenails on both of my big toes that were so bad that they required surgery, so I'm extremely picky when it comes to shoes.

Anyways, on to the boots. I was expecting thicker leather, but then again I've never owned a pair of boots so I can't really compare them to anything. What I will say is that these fit me better than I expected. The opening for your foot seems incredibly narrow at first, but once you slip into them everything makes sense. I'm really, really skinny and the only thing that's ever held me back from buying this style of boot is the fear that the opening  around the ankle would be vast chasm of emptiness. Not the case with these, my friends. The ankle support PERFECTLY hugs the contour of my ankle so if you're slender built like me and are worried about the same thing, fear not.

As far as comfort goes, these aren't bad. I will definitely need some thin insoles and will probably opt for thinner dress socks (I intentionally got mine a half size smaller so that they would definitely be snug) but overall, I don't foresee any problems as of yet. I'm really surprised with how well these are constructed, and I'm really looking forward to putting some mileage on them. The ONLY thing that was wrong with my pair was a very minute scuff on the left boot, but it looks like someone did a really great job of beautifying it and I had to really squint and adjust the light to see it. I figure they'll get scuffed up anyways so it's not a huge deal.

Overall, I'd say these are a steal for what they're going for. Definitely a good alternative to the other boots that are available and they're packaged very lovingly. I will probably be getting another pair at some point and wouldn't hesitate buying any of their other fantastic footwear.

Now, the wait for the big brown box continues.... ETA 1 week!

I agree, James!  I am more than pleased with my choice to go with Imperial boots.  Fast shipping, great price, and awesome customer service.

I'm in the Imperial Boots fan club as well.  They get more comfortable the longer you wear them.

I will probably get an extra pair to have on hand just in case, for what they're going for and now having seen the quality they are a complete and total steal. Everyone at work thought they looked really funny and I ended up explaining about 20 times that they are for a costume and that they haven't seen anything yet (My BBB is being delivered to the office on Monday, which will probably result in me leaving early giggling like a schoolgirl). If there is one very very VERY small improvement I would make to the boots it would be adding a few cm of width and depth to accommodate insoles, I thought I had narrow feet but was proven wrong yesterday - my right pinky toe is kind of sore. Other than that though, Francois is absolutely killing it.
