Sorry if I'm necroposting, but I saw that there was a BOGO deal on this......so since a lot of you are saying stay away, then I guess I should just stay away huh? That's to bad, I was ready to go on this.

Well Lee here is the deal.  There is certainly a general consensus that David (TKUK) (stormtroopercity) is a nice guy and is a pleasure to deal with.  That is always an important part when you are choosing armor.  However, the issue for many people is that David has not provided any pictures of the molds that were used to create his armor and produce his armor.  So far it has been unclear as to what the origins are of his armor.  There are basically three ways in order for a set of stormtrooper armor to be vetted and recommend.  A person needs to be given permission to cast a set of molds from the actual owner of the molds, a person needs to buy a set of original molds from another person, or a person needs to show progress photos of their molds that they are sculpting from start to finish and many times in between.

Many people may have their own opinions on the origins of this armor but David has yet to provide the actual information on his end.  He has stated on this forum that his armor has gone through "changes" which appears to happen regularly.  If you look at the armor from the beginning up until now it seems that the armor started off as a recast of FX armor with a non FX bucket that is a 3 piece like AM.  You can even still see some images on his website's homepage where the chest and back armor are clearly FX/AM.  Once you actually click on the "product shots" tab then you will see pictures of a different chest and back plate.  Because of all of these discrepencies it is very difficult to recommend to someone that they should spend their hard earned money on a product like this.  However, of course people are allowed to spend their money however they seem fit.  A two for one deal is hard to argue with.

Here are two more links to discussions on this set of armor for your reading:

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/37251-info-on-tkarmourcom-vendor/

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38558-tk-armour/

Again you have every right to spend your money how you would like but at this time I would highly recommend you look at the vetted armor list in the getting started thread before you finally do make your decision.

It looks as thought it's a few Garrisons allowing his armour, he has "evidence" of the French Garrison clearing his armour too. I only ask as I keep calling him out on Facebook where he reponds with those examples, looks like he has since deleted my comments too. Classy dude!

Heya folks.

I recently ran across a seller here in the UK, and I think he's a new one as I've not heard of him before,

which claims his armour is "501st approved" and "accurate".

The seller is called TKUK (TK Armour).

I'd just like to warn people that's it's neither, of course no armour is 501st approved when you purchase is, and then of course the accuracy...

Here the link in case you're curious.

I'm just posting this as I had a long argument with the guy who runs it on the RPF, and he seems convinced it's approvable without having to modify it.

If this post isn't appropriate, please do remove it. I just thought it'd be good to add this seller to the black-list, as he's clearly sho

Thanks Paul to refresh everyone's memory how things were 2 years ago.

The armour from 2015 was not that good. Now I have lots more knowledge and experience so I can see that. We are continuously learning and evolving.

The old armour I made I was not happy with so that is why I have completely changed it and now lots of people are very happy with the changes that I have made. I am visiting many different garrisons and costume clubs worldwide to show how much I listen and follow my critics. And they are very happy with what I am showing them.

I will be exhibiting at many comiccons around the world so people can have a look for themselves.

I need to have people to tell me that I am doing it bad or wrong so that I know I need to make improvements.

I thank everyone to give me criticism as it makes me improve my armour and my service standards

Thanks again Paul

Hi comrades,

I met David at the ComicCon in Hannover and had the chance to have a look at the armor personally.

When I saw the first pictures of the armor one year ago I said: better don't buy this armor ... but what I saw last saturday was definitely an improved version.

Sure it has some issues. Some details are not as sharp as I would love to see them, and some details are not the common way but I totally agree with Mike (TK-41576) that the armor is absolutely ok for the price of only 300$. (You buy one for 600$ and get one for free).

David is a nice person and I talked a long time with him about his armor and also mentioned the parts I don't like so much. He seemed to be happy about my honest opinion and said that he will constantly improve the armor.

I personally would choose an other vendor but I think for someone with a small budget who is looking for a kit to start his journey to become a TK this armor is definitely an option.

I hope this will help you guys when you think about buying this armor.

Needless to say that I am not related to TKUK and not posting this on behalf of David.

Here are some pictures I made at the Con:

Can any of our Canadian friend confirm the legitimacy of this?<br><br><img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4183/34729411125_0d9596b9b6_z.jpg"alt="34729411125_0d9596b9b6_z.jpg">Yes...

Yes Im the one who built that armor... it is approved... all you have to do is check the TK number in the database.

I'm getting so sick of all you guys ripping on David.. its sad. Leave the man alone. Is he hurting you? Slandering his name all over without cause makes you look bad.

When is enough enough? Why do you guys think he has to prove anything to you? is he asking for you to support him?... why would he have to prove anything. Why would he show you his molds?

What does he gain? Who are you guys when it comes to copyright infringement and what gives you the right to even ask to see molds?

Just go be plastic space men and have fun.

It was never meant to be about hating on armor makers boys. Whatever armor you got enjoy.. don't go around discouraging guys with lower budgets so they feel inferior to you and your 3000$ armor.

This armor is 100% good for basic with zero mods.. Just so you guys know... My name is Mike O'Howe, and that picture is 100% legit. So just go make someone smile with your armor and dont make people feel bad about theirs.

WE ARE ALL JUST PLASTIC SPACE MEN!

First off, he didn't have to show his moulds to anyone, however if he does use his own molds to form his armour and he were to show them it would stop people accusing him of recasting someone else's work.

Which brings me to another point you made "Is he hurting you" the answer is no he is not hurting me personally but if, and I repeat IF he is recasting the work of others he is "hurting" someone.

Last point, TK's do not cost $3000! Mine is from a vetted member and cost £800 all in.

And as I always like to end on a high, you look the business in the armour, nice build Trooper.

Logged on intending to make a thread to avoid this seller and found a thread that already exists.

I contacted TK Armour UK (http://www.tkarmour.com/index.php) because he made the armour for boogie storm and I was looking for some armour that I could wear in some local running races for fun.

I had emailed him and told him my intentions and he quoted a price and I got him the measurements.

He gave me a time frame and the deadline approached. I emailed him half a dozen times and he finally responded but needed more time. Gave me another time line.

That timeline approached and I emailed him a bunch of times and finally a few weeks later he responded and needed more time.

This went on for a long time. I would email him for weeks and weeks with no response.

He finally said he had it packed in two packages and would send one and a week later send the other. The first package took 4 weeks to get from Thailand to America. A month more of emailing him and he finally sent the second package.

Both packages are here but there are no arms no cod piece and some other missing pieces.

ive emailed him for a month with no response and eventually got the parts I neeed from RS Propmasters. I have a suit from then already and they had my measurements already.

What he did end up shipping will be nice and will work. But months and months of no communication and only a partial suit. I would avoid this dude. There are plenty of other venders available so no reason to have to deal with him.

UPDATED 7/13/17:

Package arrived today with the arms.  I wasn't expecting it because in the last month I've had replies to my emails requesting the arms and the cod piece.  But, I'm happy that at least the arms arrived.

If I may, ‘clearable’ and looking realistic are two different things. People have managed to get cleared for 501st use with this armour, but that doesn’t automatically mean that it is good armour. Clearance is more about how it fits the wearer and whether the construction methods are correct - not whether the mouldings are screen accurate.

My personal opinion is that the helmet and chest plate look very different from those seen on screen. That would be my reason to look else where.

With buy one get one free, they’re dirt cheap and a low budget way into costuming. At normal price, you can get more accurate for less money.

Just depends if you want cheap or more accurate.

Just my opinion. :-)

I guess at the end of the day it comes down to cost (and that’s the accountant in me speaking) .... at the end of the day we all want to dress up as plastic spacemen.... just like we all want to drive a car or ride a motorbike..... our choices are driven by our budget.... yes I would love to buy a Rolls Royce but my budget will only stretch to a Jaguar .... so it’s s jag that I drive....

armour is the same, I’m lucky, I got a good deal on RS Prop Masters armour, but I could not afford a commission so with your help I built it myself....

the thing is , this armour, at a budget price, may enable someone to achieve their dream to own stormtrooper armour at an affordable cost. To some people £800 is as cheap as chips, to others it is way out of their price range, perhaps this guy lets us all become troopers .... whatever our budget .....

Just a thought from a stormtrooper accountant :)

Still always amazes me why sellers of a particular costume don't or won't post on that costumes detachment, I would if I was selling a quality product.

they did, but not very successfully. David Ashcroft (the guy behind TKUK) posted several times in this thread:
