WIP: Bapty Sterling Build

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I'm thinking over 1 year to build a real Tunisia Bapty Blaster out of a Sterling.

I was thinking how i can manage the grip installation. Now i have some ideas and here it is: the WIP

The part list:

- Sterling

- Hengstler Eagle Counter

- M38 from 1942

- power cells and metal scope rail from Andy

- real sized t-tracks

- real Sterling magazine with wooden block

- aluminium grip

- just a little bit of green stuff

- and JOY!!

And here is the progress so far.....

The next is the installation of the back end. This is not 100% accurate because i will use the original sterling part and not an aluminium cast. I still habe a cast but this one is horrible....

Ow, this hurts. I can't even afford a toy gun, and this is a REAL ONE?! OW, man! Haha!

But hey, you people are GOOD at making these things, they DO look like something dragged through a Tunisian desert in 1976, so I can't really criticize the workmanship and attention to detail.

You have not cut the real Sterling in parts , haven't you?:o

Yup, he did! Well, now he has a real parts bapty, pretty rare there.

Yeah, the Tunisian governments regulations made it necessary to have the weapons rendered "unusable" for filming to take place at all. I guess those laws aren't applied to the area today though, with the recent developments in that particular part of the world..

Felix, will you tell us a bit more about that aluminum grip? How was that made? You didn't shape that out of a solid block, didn't you?!

Looks molded/cast and then milled/filed/sanded down, cause of the small imperfections/bubbles. Lost wax/styrofoam cast, perhaps?

That's some THICK aluminium. Angle grinder is also an alternative.

Congrats on a very rare variant of the E-11, i'm green in envy!

I have all parts to build my own too except for the aluminium parts.

I'm curious about the grip too!!! I have been looking for ages for a accurate aluminium grip and butt part...

Possible small run???

For the rigger guard i will use 10mm steel, not Aluminium.

And here is the result...

And now the rear sight (for both i used a special epoxyd resin particular for metal; in the past i used green stuff)

Felix
