Maybe I'm missing it, and someone can point me to it, but where is the list of the "soft" items we will need?

This list is amazing and I'm starting to gather the items now so that when the big brown box arrives I'll be ready to get started!

Thank you to everyone who is making this look/sound easier. I'm still concerned I'm going to screw it up, but fingers crossed with the help I find here, I'll be joining the crew on Troops soon.

Thanks again!

James

There really wasn't a list of them, James, so I created a thread just now that may help:

I'm going to shoot for centurion right out of the gate but I am doing a ROTJ TK,

Can I still follow this parts list? Is the strapping materials that are used for ROTJ more or less the same? I know there are some differences but is the bulk of the elastics/rivets and snaps the same?

More the less the same, there are a few details which are different and both CRL's have undergone updates recently, have a compare of the ANH and ROTJ CRL's http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL

Also have a read through this comparison sheet https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view

I have read through all the CRL's extensively and noticed the differences, the file in the Google drive was exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much!

Satin Black:     Humbrol # 85  or   Testors # 1747 for vocoder, trap/ tear drop/ear bar outlines/stripe(s), ROTJ and ESB frown, TD screw heads.

        Gray:               Humbrol # 5   or     Testors # 1138  for trap/tear drop/ear bar background, ANH frown and ab-buttons.

        French Blue:   Humbrol # 14  or    Testors # 2715  ForTube stripes/ab buttons.

Mediterranean Blue   Humbrol  (Tube stripes alternative color)  Testors:  No exact match

Gloss white   for all rivet heads (excluding cod rivet).

        Mineral spirits for brush cleaning

Newbie question, I searched Amazon for Humbrol #85 and an "acrylic" #85 came up....is this correct? Is acrylic paint the paint to use? I didn't see any references to acrylic listed so I wanted to make sure - thanks!

You will definitely want an enamel paint, rather than acrylic. Both should be very prevalent at your local hobby store. Trooperbay also carries the appropriate TK paints.

Just as Caleb mentioned, you need the enamel, not the acrylic.  You will need to pick up a small container of mineral spirits as well to clean your brush(es).

Hint:  Be sure to gently shake or stir the paints before each use. ;)
