Epic photo

I saw this picture on reddit yesterday.  I hate it when I get dirt in both eyes at the same time !  They get all wet...

I must say that this is touching me at a personal level, since one of my nieces is currently fighting against a f*cking leukemia.  In fact this is the very reason I decided to finally buy my armor, when I saw the fundraising and the hospital visits that the 501st organize.  It is my way to contribute, by giving time and help to raise money.

Now I must go, the dirt persists in my eyes and I must clean them a bit.

This is awesome!

Sorry that I can't find better words, but photos like this touch me very deep and I always think that there are some things in our world (diseases) that should not exist.

Buckets off, for a great job, trooper, to put a smile on the lips of ill kids and not at least cause i am not sure if I could do a job like this without a little flood of tears pouring out of my helmet! :salute:

Saw this pic come across my FB newsfeed, I had no words to describe it. Then you read the story that goes along with it, truly heart warming. Well done trooper.

Makes me proud to be a member of this tremendous group.

The picture has indeed gone viral. It has been across my FB page a few times in the last few days, and I've shared it there.

As it has been said already, there aren't words for this. WHO IN THE HELL IS CUTTING ONIONS IN HERE?

Anyway, the reactions from the people are some of the best things you'll ever see while doing this. I'm "that Trooper" that the handlers probably hate, because I've never met a photo request that I wouldn't stop for (unless we're being herded to a specific location for a timed showing). A big heart is a definite multiplier when trooping, and the photo of that little girl taking that TK's hand because she wanted him to escort her during treatment just YANKS at the heart strings.

To be able to impact people that by all accounts should be at the lowest point imaginable, to the point that they simply smile and want to spend time with you... That's some truly awesome presence and power to do some amazing good.

It is indeed events and situations like this one, that drive people to the 501st.

I'm proud of all of you, I'm proud to be one of you. #BadGuysDoingGood Indeed!!! Let's generate 501 more pictures like this, this holiday season and into 2015!

These are my favorite types of photos. I think I have one where I'm high-fiving a little kid. There is a moral virtue in making the world a better place, and all adults have a responsibility to positively make an impact on children, even if they are not our own.

Having kids of my own

<------ the princess kissing my bucket in this pic is one

makes photos like the one above so heartwarming!

Paul put it very gracefully:

Greetings troops,

That pic came across my FB news feed a week or so ago and was the pivotal moment I decided to initiate kit for the 501st.  I have thousands of dollars invested in XVII century and September 1939 Polish cavalry kit but none of that ever put a smile on a kid having trouble in a children's hospital.  I made lots of adults happy in the Polish community here in Chicago in appearances at various ethnic functions but...

Vivat 501st!  Vivat!
